Kim Jee-woon's suspense thriller I Saw the Devil 악마를 보았다 (2010) is set for an English-language remake.

According to the video blog by producer Adi Shankar, writer Simon Barrett and director Adam Wingard have signed on to develop the remake. The writer-director pair has worked together on five films, including home invasion horror You're Next (2011) and forthcoming thriller The Guest.

In addition to Shankar, the film will be co-produced by Snoot Entertainment, who also produced The Guest.

The original I Saw the Devil starred Lee Byeong-heon as an intelligence service agent who takes revenge on his fiancé's killer, played by Choi Min-shik, by hunting him down and torturing him.

Two years ago, Shankar was briefly attached to Park Chan-wook's English-language thriller Corsica 77, a crime drama set in the 1930s.

Didn't like it either. Found it too long, predictable, and violent to the wrong effect.

Can I know why? Lots of people loves the movie but I found it boring though I admit that the ending is kind of brilliant since you can make like 3/4 conclusion from it. 8D

For K-thriller genre, I think my fave remains 'A Bittersweet Life' since that movie is just really amazing for me. Too bad LBH messed up again recently. :(

this movie was way too graphic for me. Like, I don't mind violence but i feel like a lot of violent korean movies are centered on revenge and the woman is the one who gets the violence inflicted on her, even though she's not the antagonist

Didnt really like the movie but I love the bits on how he planned the revenge and actually execute it. It was kind of perfect to do what he did to someone monstrous like CMK's character.

They probably gonna ruin the movie like they did with Addicted. While the original movie was sort of brilliant, they have to change even the plot of the movie when they do the remake. I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND. :O

I don't even like scary/thriller movies so idk why I'm here.
But I was thinking about how some people suggest American companies just show the original with subtitles. I don't think that would really work? There would have to be a lot of little side info captions to explain certain phrases or jokes. Not to mention some of the stuff that is made a big deal that isn't made into one in American shows?

idk, this is probably off topic but I was just thinking about it.
America usually takes good things and fucks them up. I will never forgive them for Being Human
