I think Lee Junki would be great in that role.

NGL that I'm pleased that Kim So Eun got that part. I thought she gonna do well as Erika's character -- innocent but not to the point of annoying.

Yoo Seungho will be perfect as Shota's role I guess since he seemed to make everything work but he's in the army so we have to rule him out. But really, none can play the role as well as Shota since he kind of make that role his but the thought of Ji Changwook playing that part amuses me. 8D

omg lee min ki pls!! it's a shame he's in the military he'd be SO GOOD in that role!

no to almost everyone else u've listed except for kang ha neul and MAYBE lee soo hyuk. i need someone with cheekbones and attitude but i also want someone with skill...

but yeah---it's hard, isn't it? there r so many talented young actors out there but the only one i cant think of 100% killing the role is gone...

what about kim jae wook...?

Lee Soo Hyuk would be pretty good, I think. He's subtle in his approach but also severe in appearance. I think he gets better with each role as well. He's attached to something, though! Well...he might be.

Kim Jae Wook for sure! Actually, I think I had him in mind while watching the j-drama, lmao. He's engaging and can do a lot with even a little (Who Are You)--he would werk this.

it's funny you put lee junki there since he's just a year younger than lee sang yoon.

Hmm, sounds interesting.

Sorry OP, but I'm confused by your note. What exactly is he too old for at 33? He's not playing the college student (tho ppl go to college at all ages), he's playing a ex-professor and con-man...that seems age appropriate to me.

Angel eyes was a snooze-fest the first few eps, but it got a little better as it went on (imho). I marathoned it, otherwise I prob wouldn't have stuck with it.

Ah okay, that makes sense now lol! Hmm, maybe they'll cast someone younger to play the younger him like with Angel Eyes. TBH I wish they would've left KHN and Nam Ji Hyun as the main leads throughout Angel Eyes =/

Aw. I really like Lee Sang Yoon. He has the cutest dimples and he's wicked smart (I think he got his degree in physics). He seems pretty perfect/age appropriate to play a college professor/con man. Was the character younger in comic?

I loved the Japanese version of this drama.

And I used to find Kim Soeun really cute, but since she got the nose job, ugh, she looks so plastic :/

Okay, so now I know that I'm not just imagining the nose job. Her old nose was better :/

Nope @ Lee Sang Yoon's casting. He just doesn't suit the character. I think Shin Sung Rok would be better for the male lead

liar game is my favorite jdrama I hope they don't screw it up ala to the beautiful you
I already have mixed feelings about the casting though.... Kim So Eun is a good fit for Nao but Lee Sang Yoon seems like a mismatch. He's a good actor but he just doesn't fit the image of akiyama.... he's too old and he just gives me cuddly warmhearted neighborhood ahjusshi vibes. But tvn usually churns out solid dramas so I'm hoping they'll prove me wrong about the casting

I think Shin Sung Rok could pull off Akiyama but I can also imagine him playing a really dark game creator, too.
Lee Sang Yoon, though? Hmmm...I mean, if they are going for older why not get someone like Jo Seung Woo? I can see him being mysterious and sly.

evil hyung is the perfect choice for the maker of the game. i hope they put him on masks although i like seeing his face.

NO! Korea leave Liar Game alone! The manga and Japanese drama are perfection. This is going to be another To the Beautiful You.

Not impressed with this casting. I'm ok with Kim So Eun. I think she can do well as Nao, but Lee Sang Yoon as akiyama? No. Just No. First of all Aki yama was NOT a professor when he became a Swindler. He was just a student. Clearly they are gonna make Akiyama's character older and I'm not liking this. I know casting for Akiyama's role is difficult because shota played that character well to a T, but this????? He just doesn't give me akiyama vibes.

I'm not happy about this.
