I liked Iron's the best, I think. I was kind of disappointed he didn't win. I hope he makes it somewhere...
Oh, and the English translation for "Venom" is here (http://adorkaholic.tumblr.com/post/96605157748/venom-even-in-the-ditch-like-life-i-rise-up) if anyone's interested.
Both Bobby and Iron's final stages were a step down from their semifinal stages. It would've been hard to top those semifinal performances though, plus they recorded back-to-back. I liked Bobby's final performance more than Iron's.
The show was a little messy (REALLY messy sometimes) but we got some very awesome songs and performances out of it, plus it gave exposure to rappers. Congrats to Bobby!!! Him picking 1llionaire was a great choice. I hope Iron gets the success he deserves.
i think most saw this coming... well this show was fun to watch and a few performances really blew my mind. most importantly i was introduced to olltii!! can't wait for his future projects
bias aside Iron was my fave but to be honest that final stage was not good at all. If you wanna do some nu metal / rock rap you better be some top shit because that's a very difficult genre. Vasco was a total mess in this show didn't live up to the hype imho. And Bobby honestly did a good job, he was consistent and he did rap which is the point of the whole show.
I was incredibly disappointed by Brand New team, Swings was incredibly biased with just music guys and you could tell in the last episodes how San-E was fed up by it and could barely hide it. Cjamm and Giriboy did not lived up to the expectations, they came in the show like their shit was gold and because the judges were biased other good rappers were basically pushed aside.
I feel like Olltii should have made it to the finals, you can say what you want about team YG but ultimately they were the only team that was true to the genre to the end, and I feel like if votes were open to people outside those going to the lives things would have been very different. I mean Zico is a problematic pos but damn it he's good and that stage with Olltii was the truth tbh. I am still jamming to oll' ready and that XX #justifceforolltii
Aside from all that i'm happy Bobby/Team 1llionare won because Team San-E/Swings did nothing but shit on them the whole season and Swings was a total turn off with his attitude. He needs to get over himself like 5 minutes ago.
lmao I was trying to keep it subtle but tbh I couldn't stand them the whole season, and its all because of Swings. I wasn't able to enjoy San-E because of him mainly. IDK overall they took themselves too seriously it was so annoying.
Wow are you me?! I agree with basically everything you said. Overall Iron was my favorite, he gave some of my favorite performances, but that final one was .... mmmmm. I'm happy that Bobby won not only 'cause he was one of the most consistent performers/rappers, but because this is great for 1llionaire. They really were mentoring their contestants (well, to be fair, theirs were the most new/rookie) and helping them, which I feel should be rewarded. YDG's non-help should not be encouraged. (and I'm glad Swings didn't even get a Just Music guy into top 2 even though 3 out of the Top 6 were Just Music, he rubs me the wrong way). It's a pity about YG + Olltii, I agree.
Ahhh, I think YDG's mentoring style was more like those people who teach you how to swim by just throwing you into the water, lol. He explained it one episode--that he when he first started out he had to do everything by himself so I guess that's how he teaches, now. I can understand it and it certainly didn't do Iron any harm--but I think Iron is just a strong guy who is really sure of himself artistically with good vision. It certainly didn't work for everyone, though--Giriboy, lol. I think with mentoring you have to tailor yourself to different people but YDG's way wasn't too bad and he definitely stepped in with good advice when he could.
Oll ready is still suuuch a jam!! Forever pressed that he didn't at least make it to semi finals. Im glad this show at least gave him exposure, he's such a talented kid.
best thing to come out of this show (apart from Iron himself) is Iron's facial expressions whenever he's watching anyone else rapping. I need gifs of that shit.
I think my favorite people to come out of this show were Iron and Olltii. I'd always see Olltii's name floating around but never really listened to anything--I love his lyricism. He has word play for days. What kind of modern rap Shakespeare? Also his facial expressions while watching people perform, lmao.
Anyway, happy for Bobby Doll~! I do agree that he was consistent the whole competition through and had a nice trajectory of growth that the last episode pointed out. He really did improve and while there are still things he can work on, I'm glad he finally got through some songs without saying mother-fucker and with good performances, too. LOL.
I Looooooooooved Iron soooooo much and wanted him to win. I would never have expected that talent from his first audition and I'm glad YDG got him that first day because anyone else would have given him the swift cut. But when he actually goes and writes some bars it's amazing! And he owns the stage/audience without doing much which is not easy. I was comparing him to CJamm (who he competed against this episode), who I know is a good rapper with a great agressive style, but omg the stage struggle with that one. He was so boring and I laugh at people who say you shouldn't judge on performance instead of rap. Ummm...performance is all part of it and you should do both well especially on televised competition. Swings can talk a lot of shit but even he puts on a show, lol. Learn from your hyung that you 'bout name-dropped in almost every song. His [Iron] last performance was not to my taste (I mean I don't mind rock/rap but no one was doing it right on this show--maybe I'm spoiled by RATM, though), though but I love how he stays him. I think if he had took it back to something like even his first solo performance on the show he would have took it home but I know he'll definitely get signed because he is awesome and deserves all the things (and needs to get out of that shitty apartment--that was a closet with a window). His semi-final performance was awesome and the lyrics get you in the heart, too.
Yay at the Quiett and Dok2 coming out on top. Their episode commentary was always the best. They're hilarious. They remind me of old guys gossiping on the street outside of barber shops? LOL. I'll even miss YDG's curious sense of fashion--like he rolled in and then rolled out of his closet blindfolded, I dunno.
Girl you are so me haha. I at least wanted both Olltii and Iron in the finals though. and Olltii's facials were EVERYTHING haha he's perfect for reaction gifs, they were part of my highlights each ep. I still laugh at that one gif where he exasperatedly throws his bottle away when Bobby's like charming/flirting with a girl from the audience haha.
Right?! Lol, the bottle throwing was the best!!! I had to pause and laugh for that one--tooooo funny. I think Olltii was probably thee most consistent on the show. He was constantly good and his lyrics kept getting better but it wasn't enough! *sob* He's going places, though. And he's only 18? He was born in '96! So young. So talented.
