You know how Western artists release like a single or two and then their album, and then digital singles off of that? I wonder if that'd be successful in Korea.
In Korea it might be for less known acts. The bigger ones people tend to buy them right away with the title track. I think it's why you have certain singers and groups having their whole album rank high.
You always see groups releasing repackaged versions, to help sales and give some freshness. I'm just wondering if releasing a single off an already released album, along with an MV and promoting it on shows for a bit, would be successful in any way.
The main problem I see is that the song is months old at that point, so I don't know if a video, dance, and performances would help that much. On the other hand, Korea is very single focused and many people never check out the other songs off the album.
(That would require them to put in effort beyond the title track lol )
I don't think the model would be profitable in Korea because if you're taking an idol group for example . Assuming their goal is to recoup their loss on the album / win the music shows , you gotta get a nice performance to catch the public attention (choreography etc , flashy MV , costume because there's really no point making idol goes on show for ballad ) and doing severals would not win them any favours since fans do not buy the physical album a second time with no real new stuff + it's not as more exposure as a new repacked .

Well. I quit school this weekend. The night before. I'd tried to tell myself that I could make it through my last year but I can't. I need a year or two off to travel and work and just not feel like a zombie (and also take some time to figure out if I really want to be a Japanese major). I already happy I quit too. Hopefully I can change when I'm going to live in Korea for a bit too. I'd rather work in the spring/summer time than the summer/fall but we'll see. I need to save my money first.
That seems like a tough decision to make. I've juggled that in my head. I don't think my parents would let me travel, but once you start working, it's hard to stop. Always got things to pay for and all, but it can look bad if you work, randomly quit, and try to get back into it, so I think it's good to do it while you're in college and figure things out before.
I've offically had two days of college already (TuesThrus) and omg I ALREADY HATE MATH, I CAN'T DO FRACTIONS WORTH A SHIT. But doing some kind of practice test to see where we are arrrrgh.
I finally was able to order from yesasia! it's just processing now and it took the money, but there is one item that isn't available to ship off yet so I figure that's what I'm waiting on before they ship it off.
But overall college...I have a hour between my second and third class, then when my third class ends at 2:55pm I gotta wait until 4:30pm to get on the bus so I decided to go to the from 3-4pm.
What's your worst Ebay experience? I purchased a copy of Block B's Jackpot on Ebay last week and received it a couple of days ago damaged, mostly because the seller sent it in a re-used paper envelope without taping it properly. It's been a nightmare trying to deal with them and for the first time in all of my 10 years of using Ebay, I'm having to escalate the case. I could have let the extra $1.50 I was asking for go, but I'm so pissed about the seller's shitty attitude and the fact that they don't think they're at fault. If you're planning on buying anything from Ebayer Smexybak, don't.
On the bright side, I got my YesAsia order today and by some miracle from the K-Pop heavens, I got both of the "photocards" I was hoping for (my sister asked if I was going to frame JB, lol)! I'm probably going to win the lottery next.
Also, JYP, how much did you pay Block B's stylist to get her to put the boys in outfits that promoted both GOT7 singles?

I've also fallen in love with EXO, all the members are adorable, handsome, etc etc in their own way but from Exo-M I stan for Luhan and Tao, then from Exo-K I stan for D.O and Kai xD.
(which is how I Ended up ordering a Kai picture from overdose period on yessasia, so weeee)
I'm reading Gamaran right now, and I'm almost done. It's right up my alley. In the meantime, I'm also trying to get published, and it has been a pretty interesting path so far. Hmmm and I'm waiting on my copy of Dark & Wild to come in the mail. I can't wait!

So my friends have been getting me into bts. They're not going to replace Infinite any time soon but I've grown to like them a lot more past their music. The only thing is I cannot tell Jimin/Jhope/V apart all the time. I don't know why, I just have trouble keeping up with who is who. I've got visual cues to help me though- (v- baekhyuns evil twin, jhope- long face, usually I think he's v because he seems more like a v to me but he raps, Jimin- looks like youngjae to me.) I really like Suga and Jin though. Suga looks like he could be Jisu from DMTN's younger brother and Jin is just handsome and weird.
I had the same problem in the beginning except with Jungkook and Jin... but the more you watch their things/get into them the more you'll recognize them :)
He did some English kpop covers, and was in some group that released that tragic Facebook song. After which funded by some mystery person with too much money to spare, he released some "music".
Hi Omona. I moved in last week, and managed to majorly screw myself over by losing my wallet right after. Even more than not actually having money, the lack of ID (student and gov't-issued) meant that I couldn't actually do things like get food or get into my workplace. And I couldn't get a new DL because my passport has expired literally six days beforehand.
It eventually worked out and I finally got properly briefed at my job, but now I have eighteen hours of class and twenty hours of work to look forward to. At least most of my courses look interesting...
Ah, I was talking to someone from my high school at the community college and we were talking like in observation sort of.
That people from the same schools end up hanging out together, at least the first few days anyways, or you just sort of end up being a loner. ...I'm in the inbetween I hang out with same school, a loner, and interact with people I know from other schools but I don't interact with people I don't know (yay shyness!)
this actually kind of happened to me, and it happened especially because I go to a big school. but find a club you're interested in, sit next to somebody new (screw the one seat buffer), meet somebody down the hall (assuming you're in a dorm). it's a lot better than not knowing anybody.
I had my hair dyed Peacock Teal when I interviewed for my current job, then two weeks after they hired me they told me I had to change it because of the "handbook". However, it was obvious that they changed the handbook after I was hired...but it was a job and I had student loans so I have been a closet rebel for 3 years now. I'm still ticked off about the way they did things. I actually expected them to ask me to change it before they hired me, but they didn't so I thought that they would be cool with it.
