Chinese born Koreans supposedly....so Korean Chinese? They are in China Line and were friends with Kris and Tao. So I'm not sure if that is considered the same thing since they are actually Chinese and grew up speaking it and Korean (and English) if I recall their interviews.
They were on some show before and mentioned that they are from Jilin, China. Jilin happens to have a Korean Autonomous Prefecture called Yanbian, meaning that there's a large chunk of the population in that area that is Korean. I still don't fully understand it lol. It sounds like a large scale Koreatown-like city? Idk...
So I guess, ancestrally the twins are Korean by blood but probably relate to China more. I think Korean-Chinese is suitable ^^
I feel like it's kind of a loaded question, considering they were raised in China. Obviously their Chinese is going to be better than someone who's had less exposure to the language.
Learning Chinese from native speakers has taught me how difficult it is to learn how to pronounce a second language properly and make the proper word choices to sound fluent - and I'm speaking of both my Chinese and their English when I say that.
They were born in China and spoke Chinese...but the area in China they were born in was kinda like "Korean Town"...and I think there are family members in their family that are actually Korean immigrants who settled in China. So they could be Korean-Chinese.
Anyway, I think they spoke Chinese initially. They only went to New York when they were in JYP and was sent there for training. They are not from New York.
Ah, my poorly phrased question... I hope I hadn't made it sound offensive to fans of groups like EXO-M who do try their hardest at pronouncing Mandarin, but it was rather just a curiousity, because I'm really interested in this recent K-Pop/C-Pop niche. Does anyone know if there are other idol groups in China who were produced by Korean companies for the Chinese market... who also sing completely in fluent Chinese? I think TimeZ is one, but they have two Korean members in their group, and I've never listened to their songs, so I'm not sure how fluent their Chinese is. I don't count EXO-M bc Chen does most of their singing and his Mandarin is clearly not fluent.

um, chen is 1/6th of the group (as of their released songs), he has the most parts, but he does not do the most singing because there is luhan and lay and sometimes xiumin too. so their songs are not just him singing. but generally their songs are still sung/rapped by members who are fluent in the language.
Yeah, but I still notice that he has an accent. I like EXO-M songs, and I know that other members sing too lol, nothing against them. I'm just asking about groups who don't have a noticeable accent in their songs.
This is kinda sad. The song is fine. I like it. But Tasty's videos are getting cheaper and cheaper. The best one they had was with the female actress, where they got killed by the gangsters. Next time they'll just be on a white BG, or sitting in their dorm room or a car. Even the dancebreak was lacking, and they're good at dancing. It's kind of sad. I don't see them surviving much longer, unless some huge makeover happens. :/
