How did Haesoo not even look across the street. Maybe because I personally am always looking everywhere, it was weird how she looked left to right, and not in front of her...lol. I'm super confused by Jaeyul's brother. I don't even know how to ask what I want to ask about him because I'm still confused. The whole thing about Jaeyul's childhood isn't making sense to me.

There was a part during episode 8, near the ending, where I felt super uncomfortable by what was said. Thinking about it makes me wonder if I missed something, since I'm sure my attention was off the show for a minute or two and that's all it takes to miss something important. That one comment makes the ending really odd to me. Not naming it since there isn't a spoiler tag.

Nothing to do with the plot, but I just want to love D.O with all my heart. He's so adorable.

I'm re-posting this from the last post:

Does anyone have a guess of what Jaeyul's disorder might be? He doesn't seem to black out, so I don't think it would be one of the schizoid disorders. I was thinking Dissociative Identity, because Kangwoo would be a hallucination. At first I didn't think he lost touch with reality, but after the car scene and fight scene, and now the phone call scene, he seems to have some psychotic symptoms. Matched with that, we know he has OCD and experiences nightmares.

I'm absolutely not any sort of psych person but I read on this stuff a lot (especially DID) and I don't think it matches. Kangwoo is portrayed as physically separate from Jaeyul. I thought for DID, usually people describe the feeling of switching or interacting with their identities as a nap or a meeting within the mind and not outside of it. Like...Jaeyul is acting as Jaeyul when he's with Kangwoo.

But as you said, then again Kangwoo is supposed to be a physical manifestation/revival of everything that happened to him so it matches that part of DID.

Kangwoo is portrayed as physically separate from Jaeyul.

This is why I didn't want to really rule out the schizoid disorders, because Kangwoo is a hallucination and he's a apart of Jaeyul, but Kangwoo is external to him.

"There was a part during episode 8, near the ending, where I felt super uncomfortable by what was said."

I'm super curious what is was that made you uncomfortable.

I wouldn't worry too much about lack of spoiler tags in the comments. This is a discussion post, so anyone who hasn't already seen the episodes has to know that by entering this post, they are opening themselves up to spoilers automatically.

Jaeyul said something like..."I brought you all the way here and you won't sleep with me..." At least that's what I read, if anyone else confirms it, then I know it wasn't just me seeing things.

No it's true and I think it opens up and interesting discussion on whether or not Jaeyul's behaviour is justified. I find it super cringeworthy, he's basically punishing Haesoo like an animal because of her trauma. But at the same time it seems to be working???? I'm not sure if something like that would happen in real life, and I guess just because you have ~baggage~ or trauma of any sort it's not fair to expect someone to put aside their needs for you? I guess that's what the drama is trying to say, but I'm not sure I agree.

I think the statement devoid of context sounds cringeworthy, but throughout the episode, Jaeyeol was being extremely accommodating while Haesoo was being pretty manipulative and controlling.

I get that her behavior is probably a result of her anxiety issues, but she needed to be called out on it and that's basically what he did. I mean all through this ep, Haesoo was touching and kissing Jaeyeol but rejected all of his advances (that temper tantrum when he kissed her with the ice cream in the park was way out of line). Plus, Haesoo was constantly making off hand comments about Jaeyeol's other girlfriends, how he must have been buying them things all the time and how their conversations must have been shallow, was really a dig at Jaeyeol being a player and trying to make his relationships with women and his sexual urges as something insignificant or impure.

It's when he turned the tables on her and let her experience what it really feels like to be treated the way she was treating him that Haesoo started to realize that maybe she really did want his affections (physical and otherwise) and if she was going to get what she really wants, she would have to stop controlling and saying no to everything all the time.

Yeah I can see all that, and I agree that between Jaeyul and Haesoo in that particular scenario it's pretty fair to do what he did. I could see her original concern with the hotel suite and the flights and everything like that, because culturally when men pay for everything you're expected to return the favour in sex so it could be seen as some sort of blackmail. But since Jaeyul went out of his way to prove that it was just him being nice and wanting the trip to be comfortable, she didn't need to continue to be confrontational.

My only issue is that his reaction pretty much only works for Haesoo because of her personality, and as they're the only real "successful" romantic relationship in focus I feel like it's sending an odd message. It kind of feels like they're trying to say that if someone has trauma like that you can just brunt force your way through it (ex: Dongmin and Youngjin? consistently just screaming at each other) and force people to get over their issues. That's what I mean when I say I'm not sure that sort of action would work in real life when pushing someone like that could just as easily lead them to some sort of breakdown.

I'm confused because the comment is unacceptable, but then taking account the context and what he was doing, it seems as if he was only giving her what she wanted: Jaeyul admitting that his desires for her were nothing more than sex.

Tbh I thought the only reason they got together was because Haesoo wanted to get over her anxiety and Jaeyul was forcing her to do that, not because they were fully interested in each other. So yeah in context I feel like what he said was justified and probably what she needed to hear.

I do not like Soo Kwang and So Nyeo.

I wonder how old Soo Kwang is supposed to be. I get that she is supposedly a legal adult, but seeing him pursue a girl in a school uniform is icky.

I think something I read said he's in his early-mid 20s? She literally JUST became a legal adult so he was going after her before that too and it was gross af. It also doesn't make sense because she's not shown being nice to him at any point, so it feels like he's just dependent on her because he finds her to be some misunderstood innocent little girl and that's creepy too.

I just need someone to on the show to figure out the Kang Woo isn't real. I'm ready for the plot to move forward a bit on that point. The relationship between Jae Yeol and Hae Soo seems off to me somehow like this is the first time in a drama I can say I feel like the mains got together too fast. Idk it felt like a lot of filler these last two episodes as much as I love their kisses.

Also, I was sure Jae Yeol killed the stepfather but now I'm not so sure.

I keep changing my mind on who I think killed the stepfather. Every flashback Jaeyeol has regarding his childhood seems to reveal more about what was really going on in that house (like this week the reveal that his mother wasn't exactly an angel). I like the approach they are taking, but I'm eager to know what really happened.
