Ahn Jae Hyeon Was Told to Get Plastic Surgery After His Debut
With his tall height, unique and eccentric atmosphere, light toned skin and eyes without double lids, Ahn Jae Hyeon has the looks that many women desire in men these days.
From SBS’s You Who Came From the Stars to the recently ended You Are All Surrounded as well as the film Fashion King , Ahn Jae Hyeon has been busier than ever.
In a recent interview with Newsen, Ahn Jae Hyeon said, “Now I feel like the drama is really over. I’m organizing my thoughts as I’m doing the interview. I didn’t take a break in acting starting with You Who Came From the Stars. Only now do I feel like I’m finally taking a break,” but his schedule is completely filled up until the end of this year.
Having completed his second drama, Ahn Jae Hyeon said, “I changed a lot and learned a lot too. I think this is the time when I’m realizing, ‘Wow, there are things like this.’”
About the filming site of You Are All Surrounded, he shared, “The atmosphere was great. There was much laughter because I acted alongside actors who are similar in age. Seung Gi and Jung Min were both born in 1987 and I was also born in July of 1987 so we became friends.”
When asked, “You have the looks that people these days desire. How do you feel when you hear praise regarding your looks?”
He answered, “I feel really good. I love getting praised. I just feel happy.”
About his looks he said, “I don’t think I’m handsome but I’m happy that people see me in a good way. When I think of handsome, I think of sunbaenims like Kang Dong Won, Won Bin, Hyun Bin, and Cha Seung Won. Actually, when I first debuted, so many people told me to get plastic surgery.”
Ahn Jae Hyeon said, “They told me that I needed to make double lids on my eyes and that I need to reshape my nose. This was about five or six years ago and I’m glad that I didn’t get surgery then.”
Enjoying his free time in between his schedules, Ahn Jae Hyeon said, “I haven’t been able to get some things done during daytime these days. I should be going to the bank soon… But I still exercise at night and study for things that I should. I think right now is my break. I’m organizing my thoughts as I’m doing this interview.”
He concluded, “I’m trying to enjoy this. Doing the interview and eating lunch as I move to another location, I’m trying to enjoy every moment. I also like talking with someone new. The reason that people take trips is to meet new people in a new setting and to experience new things so I’m trying to enjoy my life by thinking that way.”
Model-Actor Ahn Jae Hyun Talks About Going Through Retinal Detachment Surgery in High School
In a recent interview with OSEN, model and actor Ahn Jae Hyun revealed that he had previously received retinal detachment surgery in his high school years. Retinal detachment is a critical condition caused by a hole in the retina, and in the worst case scenario, it could ultimately lead to blindness.
On his two years as part of the reserve forces (meaning he finished his military service two years ago), Ahn Jae Hyun shared, “I completed my military service early. At the time of my enlistment, I really didn’t have a lot of work [coming in]. I was a part of public services due to my eye condition. Currently, there are sponges in both of my eyes. At a certain point, I wasn’t able to see people because the brightness of light was too strong, so I had surgery during my second year of high school. The surgery was on July 1, the day of my birthday. I couldn’t even take my final exams and was bedridden for about two months.”
The model-actor added, “Even now, I get regular checkups once a month. I wear special lenses on a daily basis, so I feel pressured by action scenes. During filming for ‘You’re All Surrounded,’ there was a time when I got hit in the eye. Many thoughts passed through my mind during those 10 seconds that followed. Fortunately, I was okay so I didn’t go to the hospital.”
Ahn Jae Hyun Reveals He Turned Down Yeo Jin Goo’s Role in Movie “Hwayi: A Monster Boy”
Model turned actor Ahn Jae Hyun revealed that he received casting offers for the 2013 movie “Hwayi: A Monster Boy” starring Yeo Jin Goo.
Ahn Jae Hyun said: “My dream was to become a well-known model, and I didn’t really think that I had to act, however I still got a lot of offers to do it. Among the offers I received is for the movie Yeo Jin Goo starred in, ‘Hwayi: A Monster Boy’. I have no experience in acting at that time and so I had to politely decline. This time with the movie ‘Fashion King’, there’s a different representative who recommended me and so it’s a film that I have decided to do.”
When asked about what he thinks about people who says he cannot act, he explained: “I wanted to get my name out there as a model. I wanted to show model Ahn Jae Hyun can act, but this doesn’t mean that I tried acting out of haste. It’s my third year in the modeling business, but it’s not something I have perceived I would be doing since I started. I want to show an image of myself that have already achieved my model dreams to take it another step and try another challenge, which is acting. I still have a lot to learn about acting, from diction to breathing and even vocalization. I think that if I learn the basics, I can try to master acting in the near future.”
Model-Actor Ahn Jae Hyun Spends Time with His Mom on a Date
Model and actor Ahn Jae Hyun recently revealed a heartwarming photo of himself while on a date with his mom.
On July 27, Ahn Jae Hyun posted on his own personal Twitter account, “On a date with my mom. It’s also nice that it stopped raining,” along with a photo taken with his mom on their date together.
In the uploaded photo, the model-actor can be seen wearing a black shirt and round glasses, with a slight smile on his face. It appears that his mom was unaware of her son taking the picture, as you can see his mom standing in the back, looking into her phone as Ahn Jae Hyun snaps the picture.
Meanwhile, Ahn Jae Hyun shot to stardom after starring in the hit drama “Man from the Stars,” and most recently wrapped up filming for the SBS drama “You’re All Surrounded.”

Date: 2014-08-11 03:11 pm (UTC)like what the fuck, the entire cast was audition-based and people like kim woo bin and ko kyung po got turned down. he probably got an offer to audition for the role, but it's just rude as fuck to imply that you were offered the role, both to the other actors who auditioned and to yeo jin goo, who got the role.

Date: 2014-08-11 03:47 pm (UTC)it's kinda weird with ahn jae hyun's popularity, like he does not have good proportions for a model but he was probably one of the most popular ones because of his looks (which i personally find meh, so-so). he's always said he'd never act but model life is rather short... maybe he'll get better but so far he's taking the typical idol route.

I wear glasses regularly and i always have to pushed it upwards because it keep on sliding to the tip of my nose. SOmetimes i think that Koreans obsession with plastic surgery is downright crazy!
