EXO-L reaches 1.2M+ members in a week

EXO-L, the official global fanbase of Korean-Chinese boy band, EXO, in a span of a week has reached over 1 million fans. Although lots of difficulties were met, due to high traffic and insufficient servers, the global fanbase of EXO continues to rise. It is said that they have officially risen above TVXQ, the boy band with the last recorded biggest fanbase in Kpop.

How do you feel about this Omonians? Any EXO stans signed up for the website that got through? Anyone still waiting? Let's discuss.

I, myself, signed up on the 5th or 6th, and today I was able to successfully get through after days of 'Error' messages.

i hope you're not serious about the whole exo's fanbase is bigger than tvxq's fanbase...
i'm not saying that it isn't possible. it is so, very possible at this point.
i'm just saying that you can't compare the two fanbases in numbers compiled from their fansites alone, because:

1) exo's fansite is accessible internationally for registration and tvxq's has only allowed koreans to join. this is a fact, seeing as tvxq's fansite requires a korean social security number upon registration, and exo's fansite doesn't.

2) exo's fansite has free membership whereas tvxq's fansite does not offer that privilege~~~

3) anyone with more than one email can sign up for exo's fansite, i have personally signed up with 2 emails because i have 2 biases in exo lmao. this obviously increases the numbers on the "stars" count on their fansite.

in conclusion if you're going to claim that exo's fanbase is larger than tvxq's fanbase based off of numbers on their fansite, at least provide some other resource material cause this is just embarrassing...

....but this is SM media play at it's finest....just like the...what four albums counting as 1 for their 1 million record sales.

i'm really curious what would happen if SM re-opened all of their fanclubs in the same way Exo is opened up for international fans. and if SM didn't have a separate fanclub for their Japanese fans for SJ (do they have a Japanese fanclub for anyone else besides DBSK? Does BoA have a Japanese fanclub?)

and i'm curious how many of Exo-L are paying members?

Whatever. DBSK had 800k PAID members in Korea alone and had a few more hundred thousand in Japan. And most of that without the power of social media. Okay? Fuck SM.

Honestly Cassiopeia international was so shitty, the goodies you got were sooo cheap, and perks for I-fans were pointless. Also what the hell when they opened Cassiopeia 3rd was for like one week and they put the announcement in English like 2 days before it closed. Its messy all around tbh.

Bigeast on the other hand is such a pleasure omg. You got tons of goodies and every month you got the magazine, so many perks (especially when balloting for concert tickets omg) and fun merchandise. Like even if you weren't in Japan, you could join and enjoy the experience.

that's cool though, DBSK5 in their peak, had more than 1.2M paid members if you add both fanclubs. I was a member of both and I still have my Bigeast membership lol.

I have been immersed in my JYJ feels as of now, but I'll be going to SMTown, I am going with my dbsk fandom friends though. I am already hearing EXO fans have preferential treatment from SME, something about press slots for fansites are being cut off from SUJU/TVXQ fansites to give them to EXO fansite masters. IDK I feel like there's going to be a lot animosity between fandoms because of how SME is approaching this. Like I know SUJU and TVXQ fanbases are not getting bigger but they ain't shrinking either? And after that kakao talk convo between Changmin and Kyu fans are getting more apprehensive about it lol. As usual I feel like SME its not managing this well. Sometimes it feels like EXO's worst enemy its SME itself.

I was so sad about the Kakao talk between Changmin and Kyuhyun :( It must suck for them to see SM pouring all these resources to EXO and they just have to suck it up cause they're the seniors and all.
