I like that they're giving the second lead a solid chance, bc I hate dramas with a second lead who doesn't stand a chance from the beginning. At the same time, I hate when the second lead is given hope and but then all of a sudden the female lead is like 'meh, I'm not really feeling you anymore' lol Second leads always give me heart burn whether they are male or female.

But I do ship Jang Mi and Gi Tae a lot, especially now that he is starting to grow up and realize that she is a human being with feelings and insecurities.

i remember the one time the second lead actually ended up with the lead girl, i was so shocked. it probably only happened because the audience got to vote and chose which ending they wanted: lead girl with lead guy or second lead guy, but i'm still surprised tbh.

they do a kind of fakeout near the end where she seems to choose the second guy but then the lead guy gets hurt and she has to pick who she's going to go to. i was like 'ahhh there you go. you had a good run minhyuk but the lead dude always wins' only to be surprised when she still chose the second guy

i'm writing it in a spoiler tag just in case others may get mad, but from the dramas I watched, I remember these with the second leads ending with the main girl/guy:

i know that it happened more than once with park shi hoo (with the dramas: my perfect neighbor, queen of reversals and possibly prosecutor princess) when he played second lead, in fact he even got a nickname because of it.

joo won scored eugene in baker king.

kim soo hyun wasn't a second lead as it was an ensemble cast, but he wasn't supposed to end with the girl in dream high but because of the public love for the couple he did.

fashion king, lee je hoon ends up with shin se kyung.

yeah, soo hyun was the male lead (even though taec can't be called a second lead, as it was pretty equal) but he wasn't supposed to get the girl, he was the one that supposed to have it all but love, but the public really loved his pairing with suzy (something that still lives on as they have been bean pole models for nearly four years right now and the public wanted them together for real), so in the last couple episodes they re-wrote in a way he ended with the girl (but not really).

but during most of the drama she was in love and dating taec's character, and with de deleted extra scenes it was obvious that the initial intention was to keep these two together.

Park shi hoo always ended up with the lead girls in nearly all his dramas despite being the second leads. This is because he always have amazing chemistry with all the female acctress that hes been working with no matter how wooden the girl might be.

But for me the biggest and the most awesome surprise is when joo won ended up with eugene in baker king. Totally didnt expect that until it happened in the last episode. :)

Its also aweeome and cute when song il gook ended up with han ga in in terms of enderments. The ending was really cute since she surprise him with the fact thst when she brought up their daughter all by herself and he was really shocked to learn that since he thought she already have a miscarriage years ago.

The horrible drama that is fashion king.

Another one -- my utmost favorite: a man's story. EVERYONE should watch this drama just to see the ending since it was super awesome and shocking. Park youngha is amazing but kim kangwoo totally have my attention despite being evil and a psycopath. He balances evil and vulnuberality amazingly. Amazing portrayal by him all around. :D

that's why answer me 1994 left me feeling so confused. before it started, in the teasers i was under the impression that yoo yeon seok was the lead with ara. then the story goes haywire and keeps giving chilbong hope and chances even though najung was never into him.

I didn't watch reply 1994 but I know A LOT of people were upset that na jung didn't end up with chilbong. it was the total opposite of 1997 I guess...you never once got upset that the lead didn't go for the second lead.

Thank goodness we have amazing actors bec the last 15 minutes or so of ep 10 would not have translated well if we had serviceable actors doing it.

Kitae admitting to himself that he likes jangmi! I trust he's smart enough to make a move before it's too late

I love the bit where jangmi sees the difference between her relationship with yeoreum ( who prefers she lies and pretends) and kitae (where she tells him to be more upfront and honest about his feelings)

this drama only keeps getting better, tugging my heart in the best ways possible, from emotional to hilarious ways.

i knew that yeo reum never stood a chance, but i feel bad for him as he is a good guy.

jang mi is pure perfection and i want her wardrobe.

i love how gi tae is madly in love with jang mi.

ho dong is an idiot, but i loveable one, i adore him.

seah is a crazy bitch, and i don't like her as a person, but i don't hate her either, i actually like her as a character and see some sincerely from her. i just hope they won't throw her together with yeo reum.

the only character i dislike, and nearly hate, it's not gi tae's crazy mom or sleazy dad, but hyun hee. maybe it's because the actress is bad, or the character has no depth and barely appears in the drama, maybe a mix of both, but she gets on my nerves. to me she is fake and phony as she can be that has ulterior motives and a hidden agenda. i don't like how emotionally manipulative she is with jangmi using her good heart to her favor, while acting like a victim. maybe i am wrong and i will bite my tongue later, but i feel that her goal was to snatch a rich husband and hodong was the perfect fool.

I think she is an unnecessary character that the writers threw in and they don't allow her the depth that they have given to the other characters tbh. She isn't a well fleshed out character so its hard to sympathize with or understand her.The actress isn't that great either.

i agree completely, if they gave something real for the character other than what ifs hidden behind a innocent and easily broken facade i think she would have been a more interesting character.

Such a shame her character hasnt been given the same opportunities other characters have been given in terms of depth, reasoning and growth bec i saw her in that drama with lee wongeun and she was good. Very different from her let's eat character

the actress who plays hyun hee emoted the exact same way in every drama she was in... her characters are all pretty much different but she plays them all the same way which is annoying. i will be dispointed if there won't be some kind a plot twist with her, i can't stand her manipulative ways. i started wondering if she's preggers for real :p

i bet she has some dark secret... but even something super sad and pityful won't make me like her, she's too messed up. poor hodong, i never thought i would pity him

I love this drama so much! This is one of those rare dramas where I can comfortably ship the lead characters without hesitation.

Soooo many good moments this week. I really love how this drama handles their sound effects and music, really adds another dimension to the drama.

And holy son, Jinwoon, I usually don't find him attractive but I had to hide behind my hair and squeal when he showed his abs.

On another note, I love that I can rewatch episodes and still find new things to see because ALL the characters (especially Jangmi and Gitae) are so animated and so busy with their gestures/faces in the scenes.

Jangmi and Gitae are such a great pairing. I have to say the ending scene was great and I absolutely adore the dynamics Jangmi has with Gitae and his family. And the acting is fantastic.

Im so sad since im starting to lose interest. Tvn dramas (with the exeption of Heartless City) always started greatly but decline in the later episodes. Im hoping the next episode will make me interested with the drama again.

The drama's title kind of misleading since they still hasnt married and the drama only have another 6 episodes to go.
