Plot:
A remake of the hit 2008 Taiwanese drama “Fated to Love You“.

Lee Gun (Jang Hyuk) is the president of a family company that produces shampoos and soaps. He is deeply in love with a ballerina. Meanwhile, Kim Mi Young (Jang Na Ra) works as a secretary in a law firm. Her nickname is “Post-it” (sticky note). She earned this nickname because she is so complaisant that her colleagues dump trivial chores on her.

Lee Gun and Kim Mi Young’s paths cross. Fate and a pair of misfit conspirators cause them to pass a befuddled night together, unintentionally. She becomes pregnant….

Jang Hyuk, who plays the role of Lee Gun in MBC’s “Fated to Love You,” is gathering much attention for his naughty yet detailed “hand acting” in the drama.

Already 10 episodes into the drama, Jang Hyuk is successfully portraying the character of Lee Gun, a CEO of a big company that mistakenly has a one-night stand with Mi Young, portrayed by Jang Nara, but ends up falling in love with her. Through his character Jang Hyuk shows that he can also be a king of romantic comedy, as he often lets his heavy image go and readily shows his comic side in his acting. With this viewers are often pointing out that his charms are endless. Much attention, however, has been brought upon Jang Hyuk’s hands, as he uses them to portray a man that is attempting to control his lust towards the woman he loves. Touching yet not touching, it was a point in the drama that signaled the start of showing his love for Mi Young on screen. These small details shown by his hands eventually brought the term “hand acting” into light.

Jang Hyuk’s hand acting was also seen in previous episodes. When he followed Mi Young, who was pregnant with his child, to new-parent classes, his hands were used to bring out the awkwardness between the two when asked to massage her chest. Also, the “snail” couple made up a cute sign that symbolized the snail portrayed in the drama. Essentially a bent peace sign, the couple gained much attention for the adorable yet intimate connection that was built into their growing relationship.

In reaction to this the “Fated to Love You” team revealed that “The portrayal of Lee Gun’s emotions through his hands was all Jang Hyuk’s idea. For every emotion, Jang Hyuk comes up with a detailed hand gesture, and even the members of the staff on the set have to stop themselves from laughing during filming.”

Netizens that have seem Jang Hyuk’s hand acting responded, “Jang Hyuk’s hand acting is unbelievable,” “Even my heart starts racing when seeing Jang Hyuk’s hand acting,” “Every time Lee Gun reluctantly reaches out for Mi Young my heart starts pumping. The amazing thing about this pairing is how much chemistry they had with each other -- their chemistry from 'Bright Girl' actually upgraded to whole new level in this drama. I secretly think that the writers actually love to watch them together that's why they keep giving them/us this cute scenes back to back.

This is the most hilarious drama I have ever seen. I actually watch lots of kdramas over the years but none can actually make me laugh this much -- Janghyuk is golden! He impressed me so much with his acting -- totally different from his other characters before and then he cried in episode 8(?) and he remind me why he is such a great actor all over again. His sexual frustrations are so hilarious (I can actually picture/feel how frustrated he is lol) -- the bed scenes are always so funny since the way he tried to contain his horniness is just pure awesome. I truly lost it when he need to take cold shower for it haha. XD~~

And I think Jang Nara just an amazing actress -- all the little things she did are just so subtle and real and she might actually take Moon Chae Won/Han Ji Min's place as my fave k-actress.

Now the real drama has start I wonder how they going to keep the comedy part tbh. I dont want the cute to stop and I certainly dont want this is the start of them not staying together in one house. :(

this drama is E V E R Y T H I N G.

i love mi young to death. i've seen this character played a dozen times over but NO ONE has given it this much sincere love and respect as jang nara has done with mi young. PERFECTION!

can we just give a shout out to the supporting cast? mama kim is SUCH a good mother to mi young. i was glad she took mi young away from gun half because she was trying to protect her (and if i were in her shoes i would do the same) and half because we got that really awesome sequence of mi young and gun pretending to be high schoolers so they could meet for their birthdays!!!!

neighborhood oppa needs to chill. it's cute that he's there for her but i really hope he doesnt cross the line.

also why r ppl so mad at se ra? if anything i feel nothing but overwhelming pity. gun was the man she was with for SIX YEARS. she took him for granted, yes, but that doesnt make her a bad person. she was chasing her dream! i just find is so sad that the one time she expected gun to wait for her (as he usually does) he simply couldnt. why shouldn't she feel upset about that? i dunno...ppl r weird...

i liked the scene between her and mi young---i'm glad she called and i'm glad mi young went. it was obvious se ra was trying to shake her but there were no lies in what she said. and then when her mom rolled up and straight SLAPPED HER IN THE FACE like omg! anywho, while i didnt expect sera to just walk away without a fight i was NOT expecting this flop ass amnesia plot to give her a way in. i dont hate sera and as long as they dont turn her in to a ~*kdrama villainess*~ i'll keep not hating her but this is some BULLSHIT.

I agree with you about Sera. She was wronged too, but she did take him for granted. The fact that she knew he was proposing but ditched him anyway (expecting him to be okay with that) was so shady.

Other than that she hasn't really done anything wrong yet, but in kdramaland it's almost always just a matter of time until she does tbh. I just feel bad for her at this point.

This drama is everything. I love all the over-the-top, funny, hilarious, touching moments in this. It reminds me of japanese dramas. Which is ironic since the one remake they do get right is a Taiwan one (I haven't seen the original though) whilst all the japanese remakes are usually a mess.

This drama is a breath of fresh air! Jang Hyuk has me in stitches every episode and his chemistry with Jang Nara is too adorable. Watching him work through the UST nearly had me in tears; that shower scene nearly did me in.

I reckon Sera's going to spoon feed a ton of BS to Gun once she realizes the extent of his amnesia. I'm dreading this arc so, so much. Makes sense that Daniel and Sera are siblings; both are coming on too strong, especially Daniel. "Neighbor oppa" my ass. I didn't like the way he "heroically" swooped in at the end of episode 10 all ready to fck up someone's marriage b/c he's secretly in love with Mi Young.

I seriously hope the writers don't have Mi Young miscarry because I'm crazy attached to these babies.

the leads have so much chemistry and it does me in every episode. i love that they talk everything out eventually and that nobody has to angst for four episodes about a completely trivial misunderstanding. that being said, i'm dreading the upcoming plot bc there's nothing i hate more than dramaland amnesia D:

anyway i love seeing jang nara perfectly balance vulnerability and strength and i love that try as he did gun can't help but love her :') they are sweethearts and i hope the amnesia thing blows over in two eps :((

So I'm finally getting a chance to write a comment here. I'll probably repeat some things that other people have already said, but whatever.

I've been feeling really bad for Se Ra these past few episodes and can understand a lot where she is coming from. I mean, her boyfriend of six years suddenly just got married and is having a baby and didn't tell her about it. While I don't want her to get in between Mi Young and Gun at all, I do feel bad for her and can understand what she's been doing so far. People on tumblr are being so awful about her calling her a bitch and stuff. I can completely understand the way she's been acting about everything that's happened so far and I get why she'd hope on a plane and go see Gun.

So do we actually know if Gun's got amnesia? I know people are saying that he has and I know it'd be the go-to thing to happen to him, but IDK I could kind of see that not being the case? Or maybe that's just hopeful thinking on my part.

Also did anyone else notice that scar on Se Ra's back? So are they implying the possibility that she could be Daniel's long lost little sister? I'd kind of love it if they were. Especially since their hilarious encounter on the plane in the first episode. Oh god though. I hate Se Ra's mom for what she did to her. I felt so bad for her and then for her to look over and see Mi Young and Daniel watching the whole thing.

I love love love this drama. Love the actors, love the characters, love the writing. I seriously sit refreshing the page each Wednesday and Thursday night lol. I just hope they don't fuck it up and it keeps going as strong as it is.
