I like this much more than that video of her singing that Taylor Swift song - her voice sounds less generic female-idol-main-vocal here. No shade but I get so sick of how female idols nearly always have light, girlish soprano tones. Wendy is nowhere near an alto (she may not even be a mezzo) but she has a nice thickness to her vocal color. There are some pitchy points in this but I really like her vibrato and runs so I'm excited.
Well, from the MV teaser, we can kind of predict her voice will be wasted in a song like that. Hopefully the other songs in the album can give her voice more justice.
I wish red velvet will be like 2nd CSJH the Grace. But the teaser kind of ruin that wish lol
I'm holding out hope for their B-sides tbh. Seulgi & Irene both have a pretty good voices too from what I've heard of their Be Natural cover. The only one we haven't heard from is Joy.
I personally find Wendy to be one of the rare gem that SM managed to find. She has a really nice tone and powerful vocal to back her sweet and pretty face. I really hope she can dance too and in the future has the kind of support that Taeyeon has with her Korean fans.
ehhh the taeyeon one is kinda sketch cause if this girl ends up dating an exo or some other sm boy band guy they'll probably also be like those taeyeon fans and throw her under a bus.
