JYPE Responds to HyunA and BTOB Hyunsik’s Homage to g.o.d

Recently, HyunA’s “From Where and Until When” featuring BEAST’s Yang Yoseob has been under scrutiny, after many noticed that its lyrics were similar to g.o.d’s 2004 track, “The Reason Why Opposites Attract.” BTOB’s Hyunsik, who wrote the song, explained that the copied lyrics were just homage to their industry seniors, congratulating them on their comeback.

JYP Entertainment, home to Park Jin Young, who wrote and composed the original song for g.o.d, responded, “We’re thankful for the homage, but in the future, we’d like it if we were asked for permission beforehand.”

“From Where and Until When” is one of the songs from HyunA’s recently released solo album, “A Talk,” with the title track “Red.”

i don't want to shield anyone but i did my research and turns out hyunsik tweeted about that whole "hommage" thing two hours after the album was released and much before he and hyuna got called on copying the lyrics.
still it doesn't change the fact what they both did was stupid. melodies shouldn't be defending him cause if someone did the same with some flop btob song they won't stay as calm as jyp.

Ha! I thought JYPE might be unnecessarily nice and give them a pass, saying it was agreed to beforehand, but they actually came with the truth. I appreciate that. I agree that they probably let them off just because of the Cube relationship. Cube needs to monitor their artists more closely with that kind of thing.

Honestly, I'm kinda glad there wasn't a huge mess. I hope Hyunsik learned his lesson and I hope Melodies will stop trying to defend this clearly wrong action. He's a big boy now. He can handle it.
