TS Entertainment, the talent agency that represents Secret, has distributed a teaser image ahead of the girl group’s August comeback. The image shows the four members posing in cream and white outfits, and a caption confirms that the comeback track, “I’m in Love,” will be released on August 11.
TS has also confirmed that it will be pulling out all the stops in its promotion campaign for the new release, with television advertisements in the pipelines. The agency will also be making advertising efforts in Seoul’s Gangnam district, as well as in a number of other major Korean cities.
The new release comes almost exactly a year since the girls’ last musical effort, “I Do I Do,” a late-summer hit in 2013.
“I’m in Love” will be taken from the girls’ new mini album, “Secret Summer,” the group’s fifth Korean EP to date. The girls made their debut in 2009 with the song, “I Want you Back,” but first truly hit the big time with their sophomore release, “Magic,” the following year.

Date: 2014-07-30 01:58 pm (UTC)Personally, 2011 was their peak in fame because everyone was talking about them (and T-ara, both groups were having a killer year with all of their songs slaying the charts). However, they went to Japan, TS took a misdirection by letting Secret go on hiatus too long to promote BAP and the momentum died sort of. 2013 was sort of a bad year because of Hyosung's sandal but Yoohoo was still one of the top 30 songs on end year charts and amongst top 10 for girl groups for year end song rankings. Not as BAD as everyone is claiming but they def took a hit in popularity + more negativity due to Hyosung's scandal. HOWEVER, Goodnight Kiss acc did really well on the charts and outsold 4minute (which went #1) on the 2014 mid year digital songs ranking for Gaon.
While Girl's Day and A Pink are the 'big' groups right now, they don't hold a lot of individual fame (minus Eunji). Girl's Day are mostly relying on their group name/success but are not finding success individually (outside of Yura on WGM). Minah never hit it big on variety or acting (Sojin too) and Hyeri's popularity came from her dating scandal. Outside of Naeun (from WGM/loud fanbase)/Eunji, none of the remaining A Pink members have any big gigs or popularity and are mostly living off the group. Secret as individuals have achieved more success except for Hana (who is probably more known than the remaining A Pink members even if she isn't well liked/popular - thanks to her old stage name). so you can say that as a group, Girl's Day & A Pink are doing really well rn & theyre mostly living off it but are struggling when it comes to individual activities (and possible future solo activities). Secret as a group is past their prime but still do decently, however have more potential (and proven success) in their solo efforts (with solo success by 3/4 of the members already)
