I noticed there's something arabic/egypt related in a short vid intro that Music Core used + today's stage... I'm afraid there might be something offensive in the music video.
It's part of the choreography because of the background sound, her back dancers do it too. She's not "making fun" of it, she's just doing it while smiling. But yeah, that was bad.
I'm loving the song so far and hyuna looks like she's having fun bless her but the staging just gets messier. I'm almost scared to find out the lyrics tbh :\
It's kind of amazing how little she and Gayoon resemble their debut selves. I'm not shading them at all it's just kind of striking when you realize they've both lost a good inch or two of jaw over the years.

You're not the only one. And I tried giving her a chance because as ridiculous of a song Bubble Pop was it was fun and she looked like herself. She wasn't singing or rapping but she was sing-talking and it worked for her. Everything she did after (solo-wise TM unit excluded) was plain awful . This song and performance (and I'm gonna say MV too once it drops) is such a mess. It's offensive, song is shit to say the least. This -Miley Virus twerk, banana, monkey, Hyori wannabe- is painful to watch and even more painful to listen to. If this was CL (for example) people would be dragginggggggg. MESS

Wait who are you talking about, I'm pretty sure Koreans never said "her body sucks she has no ass", all their ideal representations of Korean beauty are females who don't have curves. Their comments on her face might not be Yoona or Suzy levels but I'm pretty sure she hasn't been called ugly (at least since BP after the nose and jay job). But some of us do see that it's not just about charisma, CL has charisma, Gain has charisma, Hyorin has charisma, but I look at them and I don't have flashbacks of Hyori. I don't know...I think the hand movements on their own wouldn't be so bad, but paired with an Egyptian inspired set and African-influenced choreography...definitely not as blatant as T-ara's "YaYaYa", but it's kind of giving me similar vibes. They were definitely going for a ~tribal~ theme.
goodness, where for art thou EXID? I can't help but compare their career to BESTie's. To see BESTie slowly chugging along & steady in the past year while EXID has disappeared is interesting.
This was the best Blacklist stage, only minor critique is that Hyuna does this funny thing where her expression is supposed to be "I'm so badass idc" but it comes off more like "I don't care about this song". She did it in Just Follow too, something like an eyebrow raise (what she did yesterday) would change that. Nbd, just kind of funny.
Her makeup was on point today but I'm not even going to start on the concept of the song and how ridiculous the lyrics are until the MV comes out. Hyuna's entire image is basically this nonsense and I'm nhf it, ever.
