Taemin to Make Solo Debut in August

SHINee‘s youngest member Taemin is currently preparing for a solo debut.

According to several sources on July 25, Taemin is currently in the final stages of his solo album preparations. Although the official debut date has not be finalized, it is expected that Taemin will make his solo debut mid-August.

According to the sources, Taemin went to Los Angeles to meet with a choreographer, among other album preparations. With his preparations almost finalized, it will not be long until Taemin is ready to film his music video.

SHINee debuted in 2008 and aside from participating in special sub-united, Taemin would be the first of the SHINee members to promote as a solo act.

I love Taemin, but LOL I just can't listen to him sing a whole song. His Jonghyun/Jaejoong-lite voice just does not appeal to me that much.

Am I the only one who finds this fishy? SM rarely lets members of an active group have a solo album. They usually only get osts and put in subunits so why now? And why Taemin?

Eh, since Henry happened they might be lightening up in terms of that. Plus they've been trying to make Taemin happen for a while.

I think it's also partly because a few of their groups may be reaching the end of their 'let's promote as a group' time and SM might be working to phase into having more units and soloists. Idk.
