I'm so disappointed....Years of waiting for this? MV was awful. Kyungri looks gorgeous, duh, but everything about this was awkward and everyone looked like they were at various levels of discomfort.
And ok, fine, I've never been able to sit through either of their previous MVs, but their songs were great. This is a little...lackluster. Definitely not as vocally epic as the previous releases. Maybe this and the rest of the mini will grow on me :(
So I wanted to commend Homme (or Big Hit) on finally having a poc who isn't just a piece of scenery, and isn't being objectified, but I'm not sure that's the correct wording. I think it would be better to say, the poc was equally objectified with the other two girls, and I appreciated the neutrality. I will say that all three girls were giving me some Blurred Lines, no-rhythm realness though. I'm curious about the lyrics too, but the song was catchy. The mv lacked the homoerotic hilarity that their other two mvs had though. (I say hilarity, because they were obviously supposed to be in their feelings over a woman, but the way the video was edited always seemed like a loveline between Changmin and 8ight (or whatever his name is)
Thanks! The lyrics are eerily familiar, but it's not like they're very unique or something. I just get the feeling a group released an 'it girl' sort of song that that repeated these sentiments (and recently too). Hmmm
why would they have kyungri but then two models? they should have just had her or had two other recognisable faces. she looked pretty but i wished they had her singing too.
I don't see what makes this like Blurred Lines? No giant intruding hashtags, a lot more sets and props, going for a fun lighthearted atmosphere instead of awkward topless women doing "sexy stuff". That being said, I like the song! I didn't like the previous Homme releases because they were going for that forced epicness, but this is groovy while still showing off their vocals.
And I loved the military suits! Is this the first thing Hyun has released since completing his army duties?
The thing that made it similar to Blurred Lines (for me) was the pretty model-esque girls trying to be sexy, but looking very awkward. The girls are failing at being sexy, and seem totally off rhythm with the song, while the guys spend the rest of the video fawning over them.
I'm probably only disappointed because I was expecting a sound similar to their previous releases, but this isn't bad at all. The feel reminds me of a slow-ed down version of DBSK's Something.
I'd say I prefer Homme when there are more epic harmonies. Their debut single was and still is such a jam.

I had a feeling the mv would be like this from the teasers, which is disappointing, and honestly the song sounds like something changmin would sing as a solo song (this definitely more his style). The song itself it ok (it doesn't touch their first though) but I'm going to keep my fingers crossed for the mini to be magic.
