EXO’s Sehun Leaves Message of Warning for Sasaeng Fans on Instagram!

On July 22, EXO’s Sehun posted a warning message to ‘sasaeng’ fans on his personal Instagram account, “This is the first and last time I will say this. Why is it that I receive so many text messages every single day when I haven’t done anything? Messages saying authorization number..password change..logged in with a different ip [address]..If you continue this ridiculous behavior, I will not stay put.”

It has been reported many times in the past that the members of EXO face serious invasion of privacy by their sasaeng fans, not only in Korea but overseas as well. Just last month, fellow group member Luhan also left a warning for sasaeng fans on his Weibo, telling these fans to stop chasing him.

In other news, EXO will be performing at the fourth “SM Town Live” world tour concert on August 15 at Seoul World Cup Stadium

Sasaengs mainly to this stuff for attention, right?! So I guess, whatever Sehun says, won't help. Sure, he could delete his IG, but then they will find another way to harass him (and he would only "punish" his not cray cray fans by deleting the account).
I mean, Luhan warned them and it still happened to Sehun.

It's just horrible and sad, but as long as those people don't get that oppa/unni does NOT want their attention (like that), I fear things won't change! :X

I have no idea how SM manages to foster so many sasaengs. Is it the way they manage the groups? I just don't understand, because idol groups operate in very similar ways. So what is it about SM that creates the worse and most dedicated sasaengs.

It is partly Donghae's fault, though. As a celebrity, it's your job to make sure you have an incredibly complex password so that the possibility of hacking is minute. Besides, most of these people aren't actually hacked, rather have their passwords guessed by fans who know a lil' too much about the idols they obsess over.

Are saesaeng fans just Korean or can they be any fan that's creepy and stalkerish? I'm pretty sure this is actually quite normal for any celebrity. I mean, I get messages like this all the time and I only run a fan site. People are thirsty and want to try and get into any account they can.

i guess the definition for sasaeng varies but i think the general idea is the latter. theres a lot of chinese fans that are considered sasaengs, as well.

I still don't understand why SK doesn't take sasaengs seriously. This has been going on for so long, the govt has to do something about it, and esp since sometimes underaged fans are involved. At the very least there should be a info campaigns about it targeted to teens.

i think that is the problem though, and what prevents real laws against it being utilized, that underage fans that are involved. there is a law that was made a couple (??) years ago that can be enforced in really intense physical stalking situations but the fine for it is like around 80 USD (i believe its that im just citing what i remember because im too braindead to battle google), which isn't enough to deter sasaengs, and as far as i know the law isn't really enforced that much anyway. people can still get away with weird shit. esp when its underage fans, 80 USD isn't that much to an adult but to a teenage girl it can be. i mean, you can say they deserve it (which in most cases they do), but nobody wants to be that person to write legislature that charges underage citizens with 1k USD fines for stalking a public figure.
