Kim Hee Chul Says He Knew About the Park Bom Drug Rumors Four Years Ago

Super Junior member Kim Hee Chul revealed that he had heard rumors about Park Bom four year ago.

On the July 17 episode of “War of Words” the MCs discussed Park Bom’s illegal drug scandal. During their discussion, Kim Hee Chul revealed that he had already known about the incident four years ago when it originally happened.

Kim Hee Chul said, “These kind of rumors spread quickly among celebrities, and four years ago I heard the rumors from a reporter over drinks. He said an incident at YG will blow up soon. I didn’t really think it would happen soon, but when it did come up he said ‘I told you it would, didn’t I?’”

Heo Ji Woong added, “After the incident YG’s president Yang Hyun Suk wrote on the YG blog, but it only made things bigger.” The MCs also discussed how Yang Hyun Suk claimed that Park Bom had not known what she was doing illegal but alter on it was revealed that she had tried to hide the pills with candy and put them under a family member’s name.

News of Park Bom being investigated for smuggling drugs resurfaced this past June. Although the investigation happened four years ago, the scandal erupted and caused more questions and controversy around Park Bom.

This was also Kim Hee Chul’s last appearance on “War of Words.” He explained that with his upcoming Super Junior activities it was a good time to leave. He also joked that it was a burden to be on the show because he knows about the scandals before they become public

Is anyone even surprised that Heechul knew of this?! The guy's a social butterfly and has connections with anyone and everyone.

And I'm kinda glad Heechul left the show. It was putting him on a difficult spot whenever he had to talk about idol issues. Yeah, he was cast for that so he could give an idol's perspective, but it wasn't doing him any good as the show went on.

Don't really see this as another reason to dislike Suju. As soon as I saw thew title, I knew it was from War of the Words. Sorry, but when it's a show where he is directly asked about specific things (and he's casted for being blunt and honest) I don't expect the polite "It's not my place to say X and Y". Is it really outrageous?. How dare a Korean idol give his opinion on a scandal in the Korean idol industry? No one but Park Bom should say anything about this ever. Rawr! Yeah- no. I'm not feeling it. I'm glad Heechul is leaving the show though. It forever has his name tied up in bad press. :/

But this isn't an opinion all it does is add speculation that this was a scandal that got buried, not that it's a cased that got closed due to evidence.

I would agree if he said something like "I think korea is too strict on blah" or "I can understand why idols do drugs". Unless he was asked "Did you know about this beforehand" it's completely irrelevant and serves to hurt Bom while boosting his image as that guy in the industry that knows everyone. And even if he was asked that, it's still not an opinion or valuable perspective.

The hate is incomprehensible to me. Once again, Heechul is only saying facts. Heechul states that when he heard it from the reporter, it was a rumor. What was he supposed to have done with that information? Would everyone have liked it better if he'd gone public four years ago? I doubt it!

Like others have already said, he was asked and he answered. Let's be real here, there is a universe of things that we could only dream of knowing about K-idols, and Heechul being both a K-idol and a very social and well-connected one at that naturally puts him in a position to hear and know things. If he were throwing shade at Bom in any way, I'd be hella disappointed, but Heechul doesn't do that. The thing with him allegedly dragging a member of SNSD was found to be mistranslated and either misinterpreted or stemming from a known shady source, I don't exactly remember which.

OP, you are absolutely allowed to dislike SJ for whatever reason pleases you. I'm not here to stop you from doing that. But I dislike lies of all kinds. This "Statement Y is proof of X; therefore we must hate this group" nonsense is why Arama died and left LJ. That attitude alienates people. It is the antithesis of community.

lulz i can't believe people are still defending bom, like it's one thing to say that she's not doing meth (because she's not) but that doesn't mean you can defend someone from smuggling in medications that are clearly illegal and be let off the hook because you have some ins with the prosectors.

and i don't like heechul not because he says stuff about other idols but because he says shit about other idols while defending sm people, but this one he was just saying he heard about the rumors people can't say this particular incident is why they hate heechul.
