Park Bom Takes Hiatus from “Roommate,” Return Undetermined

2NE1‘s Park Bom will be taking a hiatus from participation in the SBS Sunday variety show “Roommate.”

A source from the production stated to various media outlets that Park Bom will not be filming the variety show for the time being and it is yet unknown when she will be able to come back.

Most recently, Park Bom did not participate in the June 11 recording of the show, nor the 100th day anniversary special episodes being filmed overseas. However, the episodes she has already filmed will be aired without edit and fans will be able to see her on today’s episode.

While Park Bom is currently in Japan due to 2NE1′s world tour concerts, she will not be meeting up with the cast of “Roommates” who have traveled there on July 12 to film the show.

Park Bom had stated to her agency recently, “It won’t be easy appearing on the show,” after being caught up in a controversial drug incident earlier this month.

“Roommate” airs on SBS on Sundays at 4:15pm Korean time.

That sit ain't new news. Why do you think that whenever these 'scandals' pop up people are always like "Hmm, I wonder what's trying to be covered up now?" Media publications have a little black book of 'scandals' that don't see the light of day unless they're being used to hide something else. In most cases they've been tracked down to government scandals.

Honestly I wasn't feeling Roommate anymore even though I still watch every week but so far today's and last week's episodes were my favorites, I really think the show is picking up. Bom not being around for the next few episodes really suck, but she deserves this break and I hope she feels better cos her health and well-being are more important.

yeah after what yg is doing to bury the scandals and going so far as poking around son ho young... i don't really want to take bom's side anymore. i mean she's clearly not the next walter white but the fact that she's gotten them through illegal prescriptions and illegal mailing disguising them as jellys just make me doubt that she's completely innocent.

and i feel like yg's tactic to pretend nothing's happened every time there's a scandal is a bad route and it's gonna bite him back. entertainment reporters are easy to buy - actual journalists, not so much.

segye ilbo started dropping more stuff and revealed that bom got the prescription from a university hospital through someone she knows and that when she sent the package over to korea the drug was labelled as sweets. i mean i don't want to get into whether she really has adhd or not but honestly at this point the stuff from dispatch is likely words fed by yg and she might have gotten the pills for diet purposes rather than medical.

there's the additional complications that the guy who dropped the charges and stuff is the politician who was involved in the orgy fest in a mansion last year and it's possible that segye ilbo found out about park bom while doing investigations on that guy, rather than going after her specifically.

of course a lot of this stuff doesn't get translated since a lot of translation sites focus on kpop rather than the whole korean current events so...

it's the combination of yg doing strict media control and lack of interest from intl fans when it comes to current events. like dispatch and sports seoul are more well known to them but in the end these guys are closer to celeb tabloids than actual news media, you know? and segye ilbo is shady on its own (the head is some dude from the unification church) but it's much more reliable source than dispatch... and dispatch's been known to be biased.
