No he's not the best singer in shinee by any means but if he wants to do a solo that's well within his rights. I totally agree tbh. I mean, I'd prefer a Jjong or Onew solo or a Jongyu subunit ngl, but he's worked his ass off to be at the level he is now. People can say whatever they want but he's become a pretty nice singer now and as a performer he's really excellent. I expect people here to be an asshole about it tho because he's one of the most hated idols here.

This is not specifically directed toward you but towards the situation of possible Taemin solo: :

I doubt it was a legit solo if anything it was a special stage. Regardless support Taemin, lord knows everyone else on omona hates him for some reason. (Although his behavior with colorism is not to be liked or joked about, hopefully he educated himself on that bit) If he does end up having a solo then good for him, but I doubt it especially when Jonghyun already has material ready and waiting. Onew is not getting a solo anytime soon because he needs to heal from his surgery. Minho is acting. Key is in 2heart, and Jonghyun despite not having a solo album out is hosting a radio show and putting out his own original music so I don't see why people are pissing on Tae for trying something new or following a dream.
Is he the best, no. But him trying out something doesn't mean your favs are going to disappear/lose their talent., or recognition for their talent.

yus, i completely agree. and i feel like sometimes people just project their own desires onto their idols and when things don't go accordingly, it's "agency hates my fave!!!!" or smth like that. and i'm like, maybe they don't want to do the shit you want them to do?? to my knowledge no one else has expressed desires to do a solo, so why shouldn't taeb have the opportunity?

it's like when ppl were mad when key started doing musicals and folks felt that jjong (or onew) should be doing them instead, when jjong previously expressed that he had no desire to do those types of activities..

basically, calm down and let the child live the dream.
