Apparently they were formed by the (former?) head of rookie development at Cube.
Winner & now Legend, I'm not sure if I prefer acronym names beginning with B or these types of names.

What? A debut I actually like for 2014? It's about time. I dunno if these guys will be able to keep this sound, but I hope they do. It works really well for them, and the beat to this song was great. That one member had me laughing though, because he looked like a younger idol-version of Park Myungsoo. XDDD

i like it a lot!!! and they're all so tall and not super young *^* and a chinese member :')) i love when groups have different nationalities represented :')) i think i already like them, too, especially because the song doesn't follow the 'swag' trend or w/e. i like the smooth~ trend better lol (? idk if smooth is the right word BUT the other fairly popular trend for boy group rn that is not necessarily the tough, rap oriented, type of stuff).

and tbh i'm surprised there wasn't a group w/ the name legend already... anyway. goes to search for more abt them ^~^

i suspected some of them were ex-cube trainees when btob memebers tweeted about their debut... but all of them? damn cube step up your trainee game, so many people leave the company and debut somewhere else asap while the new girl group's debut got postponed at least three times now and i doubt they'll get the chance this year either. also i know cube doesn't have control on it but why isn't m4m releasing more music :(

well btob predebut history shows that cube isn't really as organised as they want to be... last time i did research on cube trainees there were rumours (idk how legit) that they have the largest number trainees among all labels
every now and then news of some ex-trainee get to debut pop up, like ladies code ashley or that chinese actor who is now supposed to do a movie with kris

basically some of the memebers (i'm sure only about hyunsik, changsub and eunkwang, i suppose there were more people but they aren't in btob now) were supposed to debut in a band project but that was scrapped. minhyuk switched agencies like sungjae, idk if around the same time, but they both were in jyp. judging from cube party (a thing for trainees, the winner gets to debut - like a pink did after they won in 2010 i think) pics, btob wasn't really formed until 2011 and then the lineup still differs. the trainees that are now in btob and the others that didn't made the cut praciticed together for two years. btob had a predebut activity on cable channel sitcom i live in cheongdam dong, and the members there were eunkwang, minhyuk, ilhoon, hyunsik and minwoo, now c-clown t.k. not that far from debut date (but still not close as they were able to practice a lot together) changsub and sungjae were added. actually changsub was super surprised as he thought he would be stuck a doing song guides for beast/huh gak without ever debuting. anyways, health issues (official explantion eh) stopped minwoo from debuting and last minute someone got peniel. which is weird to me as peniel left jyp around that time and why cube didn't thought of getting some of their own trainees as replacement? he joined one month before the debut. he even had to wear minwoo's clothes and had zero lines cause some of the recordings were already done and he couldn't possibly cover for the ex-member as his korean was lacking.
btob never had a set concept, they are capable of way too many things and that's... a bit of a curse i guess. like cube gave them a totally different concept for each comeback and that's not making it easy for getting recognition imho. like i said, some of the members were to be put in a band, but then after that idea being rejected, i think cube opted for more hip-hop image - hence three rappers in the 5-member lineup. but idk really. they debuted as a dance-ballad group.

take all this with a grain of salt, it's mostly based on my assumptions, though well-researched, they are still assumptions.

Thanks so much for the explanation!! Wow, I didn't know the lineup changed so much. That IS pretty messy. The way they handle trainees is weird, how did Cube let an entire band's worth of trainees leave?

Ah yeah, the lack of concept hurts them a little. To go from WOW to Thriller to Beep Beep is so odd.

i just put together the pices of info i found in interviews etc :) that's why i said it's pretty much 60% assumptions
cube seems to be pretty transparent with the trainess, they had that cube all stars party which was pretty much a small scaled yg WIN and last year a member of the new girl group was in a mbc documentary (http://vimeo.com/65552290) (not subbed:() plus back-up dancers for g.na's last comeback were almost all trainess

i really like this song!! the beat does sound like that gyptian song like posted above, but i like the way they have it. they all have really nice voices, especially the guy singing the chorus.

i'm still a little iffy trying to figure out who is who from the picture to the MV, but the rapper minjun is hot!! same as the second guy who sings. well and the third guy too.. they're all good looking haha

but i'm glad they finally got a chance to debut, especially together if they were already a team in cube. i'm excited to see more from them!
