TEEN TOP has Niel, who I personally don't think is handsome but he stands out to you right away... Why do you think groups like Super Junior or f(x) have Shindong and Amber? They're a differentiating factor... They're certainly good singers but as an idol group, charm gets you further than good singing talent. Look at KARA and EXO... they didn't get popular for their singing.

About their looks btw, Beauty has always been a stupid subject because it really depends on each person.
I lost it at comment #3 because everyone in 100% can sing now, rapper line has worked hard to become decent singers and vocal line has always slayed with their vocals.

And reading those comments had me so riled up and I usually try to dismiss such comments. If you were gonna pick on them at least search up a few of their videos first before making yourself look like a damn fool. And ugh I wish they'd stop being compared to Niel/Teen Top.
Ok enough negativity I'm gonna listen to Summer Hero again.

Like what? You complain when a group is "all looks no substance" - but then a group with LOADS of talent gets bashed bc they don't meet your beauty stds? like...gtfoh.
And all that shade in #11's comment lol #nolies
I do hope they do well...even if not as an idol group, maybe doing plays or something. They have great vocals, I just think they need a better sound/catchier songs.

Date: 2014-07-08 09:38 pm (UTC)And looks are so damn subjective, anyway. I personally think Rockhyun and Jonghwan are gorgeous - and Hyukjin's grin is just so infectious. Chanyong and Changbum are pretty cute too, especially when they smile. Just because they don't have the average idol-face doesn't mean they're not good-looking - and there are plenty of idol groups that do but still don't stand out. Idol success is about 80% marketing tactics and 20% actual music/performing anyway IMO, and not looks/talent at all.
I actually liked Summer Hero better than the title track itself. Hmm, maybe it's time to check out their other albums...
