I'm a makeup artist and I work across all subdomains (so film, fashion, stage...etc). I actually think one of the most shocking aspects is how little women tend to view themselves in terms if beauty. I almost feel more like a psychologist at times; I have these beautiful people sitting in my chair and they just don't see it.

I can imagine that these women get told very often they should work on this and that? You gotta have VERY thick skin to not let that get to you. We live in a society where there's enough pressure on women's physical appearance as it is, it's not easy.
