Cha Seung Won to Foster New Actors + 2 Models Set to Make their Drama Debuts

Cha who will coach new actors at “YG K Plus Actor School”.

Actor CHA SEUNG WON is to go hand in hand with YG Entertainment and a global model company K Plus to foster new actors.

CHA, who made a debut as a model but has now become an actor that crosses over different genre of acting, will be fully in charge of the acting class at “YG K Plus Actor School” that launches on July 25 with the joint intention with K Plus to foster model-debuted actors. YG Entertainment recently established a partnership with K Plus.

[The school courses consisting of walking, posing, dancing, and voice training for musicals are available for anyone 14-29 to apply, not just models. It's a 6 month course with applicants given the opportunity to apply for YG Entertainment or K Plus afterward.]

The first in line for an official debut is the top model, Lee Sung Kyung. She will be making a debut as an actor by being part of SBS’s Wednesdays and Thursdays drama “It’s Alright, It’s Love” (Written by Noh Hee Kyung, Directed by Kim Kyu Tae) that is to be aired in July.

Nam Joo Hyuk, who caught the attention of many with his fresh appearance by playing a character in AKDONG MUSICIAN’s M/V of “200%,” is also gearing to make a debut as an actor as he was cast in tvN’s drama “The Mermaid” (Written by Ji Eun Ih, Park Ran, Kim Ji Soo, Directed by Paek Seung Ryong) and JTBC’s “I’m Off to School.”

If I scroll by Lee Sung Kyung real quick, I mistake her for Yoon So Hee (Let's Eat) so hopefully she is just as charming. And totally called Nam Joo Hyuk as a model who's to be an actor soon. If he's any good we'll probably see him everywhere.

Yoon sohee is an sm talent, can you believe it? I really liker her and im surprised SM isnt mediaplaying the heck out of her.

Really? I never noticed bec tbh at this point in her career, i was expecting SM to be mediaplaying for her like JYP did to get suzy's first love image going for her. Or getting her roles in bigger projects or cf work (not as an endorser but product models) With her KAIST background, korea would love her. Surprised they havent been sending her on variety shows or getting her exposure outside of acting besides the occassional photoshoot. Though im not saying this lack of media play is disappointing bec i do think it's good for her to keep working on smaller roles and continue working from there. Sm c&c seems to be handling it differently from SMent so hopefully they do right by her (whispers: and jung so min too)

Yeah, I remember reading about it. If anything, I think people have already took notice of her and her acting. Let's Eat was well received and I heard her latest drama went downhill and got cut short after the "child actor" (Wild Chives and Soy Bean Soup) segment ended and the adults came in. She was in the child actor part of the show as lead. So, that's a good sign..I mean, not for the drama...but for her, lol.
Jung So Min deserves all the things. I want to see her more often. She's one of the few who can take an otherwise annoying role and make it nuanced and relatable. I admire her.

I watched wild chives and soy bean soup for the child actors bec lee won geun and yoon sohee in one drama. Heck yes! It's the absolute cutest then came the time jump and im not sure what happened bec everything flipped. i only watch one ep with the adult actors bec i couldnt care anymore esp considering its a long series, no thanks.mshe's been doing multiple drama projects at a time though smaller roles. Big man, Wild Chives and Let's eat were like happening next to each other or even at some points, at the same time. Wouldnt be surprised if one of her next projects will be a lead actress in a daily drama. Those budding young actresses always do those stuff. Hopefully she gets a significant role in an amazing drama that gets lots of press. Also, i hope sm doesnt stick her anymore into those exo mvs.

JSM is the only good thing that came out of playful kiss. I hope she stars in a drama that i actually want to see next time. I tried watching big man. But that quickly went from watching the show for JSM and KJH > fastforwarding to JSM parts > quitting entirely. I watched a majority of her sitcom but it just became way too time consuming. I did like Can we get married. Ooohhh rooting for Han Groo too!

I've heard that about Big Man. Everyone seemed to be rooting for Jung So Min--stole the show O:. And ah, WCSS--I like Nam Goong Min so that's the only reason I have to feel sad about the adult portion not working out, lmao.

SungKyung is freaking pretty and adorable. I hope she does well in her debut.
JooHyuk is so handsome and cute but he was just scouted this year; that AKMU job did wonders for him. I wish it was Jang Ki Yong instead; he's been trying to get into acting for a long time and has been taking acting classes in College. He's my favorite out all the k+ male models.

i ADORE lee sung kyung. she is one of my most favorite models and i can't get enough of her. she is so charming and sweet and a bit crazy. it's always so fun to watch her interviews and her instavids (esp when she was dancing to girl's day and 2ne1 lmao).
i really hope that this translates well to the screen and she'll be able to shine.
I wonder how small her role in It's Okay It's Love is because i haven't seen any updates with her ((((

also i'm surprised that it wasn't mentioned that she was in kang seung yoon's mv like joo hyuk who appeared in akmu mvs.
