kbs shows usually get subbed while they air on kbs world and last year they started uploading subbed episodes on youtube. earlier the show wasn't subbed at all, only idol cuts. after it airs in korea you wait three weeks and then the subbed episode gets uploaded on yt :) imho immortal song is great but audience can be terribly biasied and it ruins it a bit to me... plus the singers tend to strain their voices which isn't really that nice... there's a certain way of performing on immortal song in order to win a round or two, some singers break it but many just get the knack of it and so their covers tend to all sound/look the same.
Nice :) I like the show format where they show the performers joking around together backstage, but I always skipped those parts because there weren't subs. Now I can watch them, yay!
LMFAO about the "winning formula", though it makes sense - Eurovision works the same way. I think yr average audience member doesn't necessarily have the confidence in their own aesthetic judgment to rate something new, so they unconsciously think about well similar things did in the past when they decide how many points to give out.
I kinda like the idea that idol groups don't automatically win because of their popularity with teenagers, too. They don't have to win to get exposure so maybe they're more free to do what they want??? Like this performance for instance, which is totally bonkers XD.
