Kyuhyun talks about his musical, dealing with haters and the big dream

Super Junior‘s Kyuhyun talked about his new leading role in the musical “Singing in the Rain” and being a Super Junior member in an interview and pictorial for W Korea Magazine.

For the pictorial, Kyuhyun kept things simple and subdued with minimal makeup and comfortable pastel clothes. For his interview, however, he went into detail about what it’s like being in a musical and being a Super Junior member. He spoke about the difference between the two and what he liked about them. “During concerts I can just play and act as myself in front of my fans, but I also like not being myself and acting as a character in a musical.”

Kyuhyun also talked about his emotional side when he talked about how he cried during the opening scene of “Singing in the Rain.” ”For other musicals I prepared for a month and a half, but this one I practiced for three months. I thought, the three months was to prepare me for this very moment.”

The interview also showed how much Kyuhyun apreciated being a Super Junior member and his hopes for the future. “I have been able to experience things I couldn’t have even imagined. I’ve been able to hold concerts on a huge stage overseas, have very passionate fans, and have precious memories.I have dreams for the future of doing my own music while still being a part of Super Junior.”

Do you mean rumors in general? I was talking about a couple of tweets earlier today that said they confirmed a Kyu solo at the Best Of Best concert...that ended up being fake. Like, why the fuck would you tweet that knowing it was false.

There have been so many rumors in general that I think it will happen eventually, but at the same time there have been so many delays/denials that I'll be skeptical until I actually hear it. I locked up all my hope and threw away the key because 'news' like this kept playing with my heart.

Oh my, I didn't even know about that! I was actually talking about the whole "Kyuhyun's solo debut in May" a few months ago.

And I really hope you're right and a solo debut will eventually happen, bb deserves it and so does my ears. xD

Always happy to see more Kyuhyun and although I'm not a fan of the photoshoot, the interview was really interesting. I hope one day he will be able to achieve his dream of becoming a ballad singer, the reason I first started to listen to KPop was because I saw a clip of SJ on LaLaLa and was amazed by his voice. (:

Ah yes, I was waiting for this interview! It was a nice read. I especially appreciated this: "I don’t think it’s good to live differently than other people at a young age. I think it’s not too late to get a taste of the grand world after you live a normal life and establish your identity." It always makes me happy to get a climpse of the family he comes from, and they seem like such good people over all.
I also had to cackle at the part where he talked about Changmin's and his foodie tour. I'm sure that was fun.^^

I like having a drink over delicious food. I meticulously do searches on restaurant blogs putting the name of a town (Laugh). Before I started practice for this musical, I went on a food tour with my friend Max Changmin. We went to Sokcho, Donghae and Busan and we ate too much that we gained a lot of weight.

Favorite part of interview. I'm afraid my bias is showing lol.
