BoA to Hold Xmas Concerts in Tokyo

South Korea's top pop star BoA will have her first Christmas live concerts in Tokyo in two years.

BoA announced on her Japan Web site earlier this week that she will hold the live concerts under the title of "BoA The LIVE X'mas." More recently, she has been active with "Girlfriend," her new collaboration song with Crystal Kay, Japan's top singer.

BoA's Christmas live concerts will take place in Tokyo on Dec. 4-5 and in Osaka on Dec. 8.

BoA, 22, who had been performing in Japan, released her U.S. album on March 17 amid high expectations and has since been stepping up her American activities.

She is struggling to repeat her success in Japan in the United States. Specifically, she has signed a contract with Creative Artists Agency (CAA), the No. 1 Hollywood entertainment agency.

Under the agreement, within North America CAA is representing BoA in all areas, including music, film and merchandising. The agency is mulling a U.S. tour in the second half of the year.

well, yeah, basically. jyp really hit the mark on how to market and get his girls known in that aspect. i know that boa's a different genre of music and wouldn't appeal to that crowd, but part of me also feels like boa doesn't even really care, and she's just going with it so she gets some anonymity in her life.

i think a lot of people would but the success and presence of the jonas brothers for the wonder girls is hard to beat, especially when someone like joe jonas loves them.

THIS. I swear.. it gets so annoying. I think it's because they don't have enough of a grasp of the language to sing confidently like they did in Asia. They should study before they come and be super duper good at English, or not even bother. It's a cruel world, but that's just how it works.

her albums and singles sell terribly now and i'm sure her korea comeback is even further away. girls on top was her worst selling album. now she's doing terribly in the US - i really wonder what she'll do in the future. D:

As awesome as the idea is that Boa is currently on my continent, I'd rather she go back to Asia and continue being their princess there. She could be Hyori in a couple or so years and I'd hate for her to lose that opportunity. especially since she's a much better singer

Well Jrock bands are less popular than her overall and they still tour over here. I'm sure turnout won't be like OMGAMAZING but still decent.
