Actor Kim Jung Tae and his son Ji Hoo will be leaving the cast of KBS 2TV’s “Superman Returns.”

On June 10, an agency representative told Sports Korea over the phone, “We made a decision to voluntarily drop out of the show. We didn’t plan on leaving, but ended up evoking much criticism- and for that we apologize.”

As a result, Kim Jung Tae and his son will be leaving the show barely a month after they joined this past May.

“Superman Returns” is a reality show that follows celebrity fathers and their children spending time together, while mom takes a break for two days and one night. Current celebrity dads include the likes of Chu Sung Hoon, Tablo and Lee Hwi Jae.

What happened was that Kim Jung Tae showed up at Na Dong Yeon's political campaign, took pictures, and was accused of using Yakkung for the campaign/support.

but since no one really cares about Yakkung/his father here... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (I was tempted to go with a "omona's fave father + child leaves superman returns" headline tbh)

short run, but even during that time, they weren't my fave. yakkung is definitely cute but the dad was much for me. he was more strict and far more aloof than the other dads.
that second episode where they went through the market and the bus, it felt like the dad was using yakkung as advertisement.
... it's his choice to bring yakkung where he wants but what child would ever voluntarily want to go to a political anything.

Yes, I like this show, but the debate about which kid is better is so grating. And there are some very vocal fans always commenting on youtube about certain kids. They're just kids, and this is just a show, I don't understand why people take it so far.

yakkung is a cute kid, but he wasn't fit for variety.

good lord i disliked his father so much, he was the worst.

why? this is a genuine question, I'm wondering why most people don't like him. idk why I feel a bit uncomfortable watching him though.

i don't have an actual motive, like he did this or that, but i don't like how he behaved in the show with everyone, he seemed arrogant and full of himself, plus something else that i can't point my finger to say what it is.

Kim Jung Tae always seemed like he was projecting an image - if that makes sense? Usually, I don't mind because it's a business and essentially everyone has a certain image they want to convey...but there was something really weird about him that I can't quite put my finger on it. All I know is that I liked Yakkung, and I'm sad to see him go, but the dad not so much.

Yes! He was definitely very obviously trying to project a certain image. It was painfully obvious.

I couldn't stand the dad but it's good for Yakkung to get out so he doesn't get hated by netizens. :(

I hope they consider adding Shoo's kids into the line up, they were adorable lol.

From the small bits I see from Yakkung and Sarang's parts, I think they are somewhat similar, like they're personalities overlapped a bit...

though the dads... that's another thing

Yakkung was adorable but dear lord Kim Jung Tae was really annoying. I don't know if it was because he was nervous, but it seemed everywhere he went he was always like "OMG imagine me--an actor! a man! taking care of my kid!!". It really rubbed me the wrong way. The way he talked about his wife too. I mean, she took everything as playful banter, which it might be between them--but this is a lady who took care of your parents and waited nearly a decade to marry you. The jabs about how she let go of her body and what not were kind of out of place and not really appropriate imo

The show has gotten pretty repetitive, but I'm fine with that. More than seeing all the families do interesting things, I most love seeing the kids grow. It's so amazing watching the first few episodes and seeing how different all of the kids are now.
Seeing Sarang learn Korean so well, Haru becoming so comfortable around her dad, Junu and Junseo overcoming fears, and OMG the twins. They're walking now and will be talking soon...it's just really something special to see them grow up like this.

I'm not really familiar with Kim Jung Tae, but your comment definitely makes me think he's not a good person, especially if he treats his wife that way.

I just started watching with the episode where he goes back to his old neighborhood and talks about his wife (I think that's the one you're referring to? ). Anyways, I have no idea who this guy is, and have never really seen the show before, but he starts talking about his wife and her figure want I hate him immediately. Like, who the fuck are you? Have you seen yourself? You're not one to talk, ass.

Yes. And also in episode 27 (I think?) he writes a card for his wife for their daughter's 100 day and mentions her ~big belly~ once again, which is...idek. She looks fine. She's not even chubby and even if she was I'm pretty sure she wouldn't want for him to mention it multiple times on national TV. Like, she's a professor. Obviously a brilliant woman. There's more to her than her supposed big belly, which he's brought up multiple times.

I'm at episode 2 and I like the show so far. Looks like I'll be skipping this guy's parts when he appears.

The twins who went to the eye doctor? They're so cute and I was really worried for them.

It's like a documentary show for the twins. I can't wait for them to start talking. Watch any further and I think you'll just die of cuteness overload! Can't say I didn't warn you ;)

Well that didn't last long, did it. This is actually a good thing; they'll leave before I can become attached to them.

I was afraid it was because of critisizm on the show but if it's political then it's better that way.

I loved them! Quite honestly, the only reason I was still watched the show was for the twins and Haru. I thought Yakkung was a nice addition. I have always liked his dad. Oh well.

Not surprised. He seemed like he was on the show to promote himself tbh.

i stooped watching Superman when his family officially joined the show. idkw but when they were just guesting for Jun bros segment, it was fine and it should have stop there back then.
plus, Yakkung really got a lot of hate so i think it is a good move to quit rather than hurting him in the future.

My favorite will always be the twins. Seeing them go from squirming around to walking is so exciting! Too precious.
All the kids are wonderful <3
