During the 22nd broadcast of "War of Words", Heechul talked about Kris' issue

person 1: Kris has filed a lawsuit to terminate his contract.

Heechul: hold on, the situation is different from Hangeng. When Hangeng was in SJ he could only go on two programs. At the time because he was a foreigner the environment was not on his side.
3: part of the reason why Hangeng left was probably bc he was lonely too. That maybe why the company made Exo-M so they won't feel isolated
Heechul: That is true. I think Kris incident is about kris has turned down fans trust.
He left a week before the concert, where exo have finished pre-recording all the music and completed choreography.

heechul: yes everything is ruined. But I think the most important issue is this is just not right against the fans who waited for the concert. Also this was kinda expected bc kris did have some 'incidents' here and there. The fans know about this already.
For example, there was incident where Kris left (or disappeared) from the stage all of the sudden. there was another incident where kris suddenly didn't come to the company during exo's promotion period.

Gura: so this person has only been debuted for 2 years and it was only recently that they were gaining popularity and this happened so I think the general view of Kris is not good. If it was older times we would focus on the company, like there must be problem with their contract. However, as of 2010 December, SM has standard form of contract (which allows change of contract) that is fair so we focus on the individual kris and our (or general) view of kris seems not good.

Regarding the Kris incident, Heechul stated that the biggest issue was that Kris broke the fans’ trust. By disappearing with only a week left before the concert, EXO had to change all the songs and rearrange the choreography. “There are 6 members in both [sub-units of] EXO, but now everything’s turned upside down for them. That’s also rude to the fans who have been looking forward [to the concert].”

Heechul mentioned that, in any case, even the fans could have predicted something like this as there have been incidents in the past with Kris suddenly disappearing from stage, not going to the company during EXO’s promotional activities, and not returning to Korea after having traveled abroad. He also addressed the issue of people claiming that SM was forcing the EXO members to write things about Kris and unfollow him on their SNS profiles, by stating that “this is not true.”

Brief summary of what Heechul said about Kris situation

First, hankyung and kris situation are a bit different since hankyung was only able to go on 2 music shows. So SM wanted to help their Chinese trainees, and thus exo - m was formed so that the chinese members would not feel lonely, and may have the chance to go on music shows in China and in Korea.

Also, Heechul mentioned how Kris left 1 week before the concert, which is not right for the exo members and their fans. Kris left exo even after recording songs, videos etc for the concert. That means everything was turned upside down for exo because they had to rearrange everything from dance to formation which is very difficult. Since exo's performance consisted of 6 vs 6 choreographies, everything had to be changed at the last minute since the table was flipped upside down.

However, heechul says that this could have been predicted as in the past there were different issues with Kris. For example Kris would suddenly disappear from stage, or EXO has activities to do, Kris would abruptly not appear at the company, he would go overseas and not comeback. There were these instances in the past.

Also heechul talked about how ppl thought that SM was forcing exo to say things about Kris, but that's just not true, and heechul mentioned this after the mcs were talking about what exo members said about kris and how they unfollowed kris on their sns.

Besides Kris other things that were mentioned by the other MCs included the lawsuit. What would happen is that the goal of the lawsuit would result in Kris terminating his contract. Also, they mentioned how it was inevitable since there is an example with Hankyung, who after leaving the group, is making a lot of money in china instead of having to share it with the other members. Since one of the issues may be that since a singer may feel that they aren't making enough money because they have to split it with the other members, there are a lot of brokers in china who are by the sides of these singers and saying that if they leave their original korean companies, these brokers can offer to pay more money.

I don't know why everyone here has to be 100 percent on Kris's side to avoid attack. It's a much more complicated situation than that; it's not just black and white, good Kris vs. Evil SM. I don't think Heechul said anything that wasn't completely reasonable
