Girls’ Generation proves yet again that they’re the biggest girl group in the world today by reaching 1 billion views on YouTube across their various official channels.

This makes the K-pop princesses not only the most-viewed Korean girl group on Youtube, but the most-viewed girl group overall, even ahead of superstars like Destiny’s Child, Spice Girls, 2NE1, AKB48, and Little Mix.

The ninesome’s most-viewed video is their 2009 hit “Gee,” which has been watched 120 million times. After “Gee” is “I Got a Boy,” which picked up the Video of the Year award at last year’s first Youtube Music Awards, beating out strong competition from One Direction, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber. and Lady Gaga.

Girls’ Generation’s astounding viral success isn’t much of a surprise if you’re familiar with the group. Not only are their songs insanely addictive, but the girls themselves are absolutely gorgeous. Who wouldn’t want to watch them a billion times?

My Queens <3 Youtube views might not be that important and i agree that some comparisons are ridiculous and unfair but i do think they are the most influential and powerful girl group in the world right now, and that's huge for an asian girl group, they don't have it as easy as international acts that get promoted and get success globally just cause they sing in english.

And lmao at people getting pressed and being so serious about it, they are huge and that's a fact, deal with it.

I think nobody is denying that they slay and that they're probably the most popular k-pop group but it's true that comparing them with Destiny's Child or Spice Girls is ridiculous because those groups were already disbanded when SNSD debuted. DC and SG sold way more records and achieved way more things than SNSD and their views would have been probably way higher than SNSD's if YT had existed when they were at their peak. And that counting that they didn't have an obsessed fandom like it happens with k-pop groups in general.

I think this is such an exaggeration too, because yes, they're the most well-known k-pop group within the k-pop fans around the world and in those countries where k-pop is really popular (like South East Asian countries) but outside that most of the global general public doesn't really know about them. The majority of people I know doesn't really know anything about k-music aside from PSY so calling them the most powerful girl group in the world when even AKB has sold more records than them and they don't even use YT is exaggerated tbh.

And sorry to say, but most of Sones and their arrogant ass "better than all ur faves" attitude are as obnoxious as people discrediting them all the time. They should get off their high horses and realize that they're not gonna slay forever. In fact, they've done way worse with Mr Mr than with IGAB and all their previews releases.
