DSP Announces That KARA Is Adding A New Member + Gyuri Apologizes For Rumors

On the 12th of May, DSP Media announced that they will be adding a new member to KARA.

The process of choosing the new KARA member will be broadcast through a program on MBC music, titled “KARA Project”, which will be aired from the 27th of May.

However on the same day, KARA’s Kyuri uploaded a tweet apologizing to her fans for all the hurtful rumors that have risen from this move.

Many people were allegedly claiming that KARA were choosing to add another member as they were not confident in a 3 member group, and that KARA’s “lifespan” was nearing the end.

Kyuri apologized to their fans for making them have to hear these hurtful rumors and giving their fans a hard time. Also, she explained that none of these rumors were true and that they were willing to prove it to them soon.

idk why the need for the apology? it's obv a decision made by the company. i'm actually kind of interested in their baby kara show. are the rest of kara going to be in there to critique? cuz i'd love to see that.

I dont mind new members, because god knows they need a solid vocalist. Kind of impressive though how far they've gotten without one. I loved loved loved their first album. And just absolutely hated their comeback song as 5 members. Thank goodness they woke up and did sexy fierce stuff again. Rock your body dieeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

i dont think this is a good idea considering the age of the group. a new member might not be accepted publicly and by the 3 existing girls.

I mean, it'll be good to build up hype but I don't think it's a good way to integrate a member into a well established group.

I know they originally planned to make a show for the casting of two new members when sunghee left the group but scrapped it suddenly when they found jiyoung and hara through contacts. I was really disappointed they didn't recruit a strong singer cause lord knows they need it. I hope they actually pick a member that can sing really well this time.

I feel like these reality shows should be reserved for introducing rookie groups, not new members entering existing groups, especially a group as old as Kara...I wish them luck though. Gyuri is a sweetie for always trying do damage control but lol I don't think it was necessary in this case
