I don't like ballads but this is such a beautiful and solid song. They're #1 in Melon right now. I didn't expect that considering that it's their first release after 8 years ._.
I would actually expect it, for exactly that same reason. They were THE nation's boy group, and them releasing a new song with ALL members (plus Yoon Kye Sang!) is a really huge deal.

EXO's breaking records mainly due to the strength of their fandom, g.o.d's because of fandom & strong public interest. But we'll see what happens the next few days, EXO may be back on top.

Yeah, that's what I said in a couple of EXO's posts yesterday but some fans got defensive. Nobody is denying that Growl was a huge hit last year and the fact that the song is still charting after nearly a year means that the general public really liked it, and it's true that they're getting many CF deals lately and they're apparently everywhere in Korea, so they're getting pretty popular with the general public, but it's undeniable that a big part of their success still comes from their huge and crazy fandom.

I try to stay away from EXO posts/ comment sections altogether so I won't be tempted to leave a comment lol. They do get pretty defensive.

g.o.d sold millions of albums before the idea of exo even sprung in lee soo man's head they had great songs, not typical 'oh we broke up, comeback to me' but actual slice of life stuff, more varied and relateable stuff. I've already heard 1 candle and Road before and they're truly awesome. I love Observation too and the dance was really cool. They seemed like a really solid and talented group. I've observed that 1st generation idols used to make a different music, like a bit...darker/mature or something. The MVs were darker too.
I only really know a little about these guys as a group and have heard just a small proportion of their songs but oh how I adore Son Hoyoung's voice, it's so good to hear him singing. And this is a beautiful song too :)
