"I just got off my schedule and have come up to date on what's been going on. First of all, I'm sorry for surprising everyone. I apologize. I'm so upset because I feel like everything I've said and done up to this point has become hypocritical and I'm afraid people will think I'm lie in your eyes.

Either way, it was my fault 100% and there's nothing more to clarify but I feel the need to explain to my fans what happened. Since I am the main product of my company, they have a tendency of overprotecting me so I was already on high nerves, especially with our Hong Kong schedule being met with delay.

I did not see the fan but felt someone pulling my arm and definitely thought it'd be my manager so I pulled my arm back. I did not think it would be a fan. I could not manage my facial expression because there were a lot of journalists in front of me. She seems like a fan I saw for the first time and I'm so, so sorry. It's all my fault. I'll do better next time."

People need to stop. He had a bad day and reacted badly when an unknown person grabbed his arm. In a perfect world idols would be 100% chipper all day but they're humans and sometimes they fuck up. I'm sure it didn't ruin the fans quality of life that oppa didn't accept her gift. She's dissapointed but w/e. give it to him at fansign or something next time.
This reminds me of when Hyorin stopped smiling for a second at a fansign and people were complaining about her "bad attittude" etc etc.

just wanted to add an extra tidbit that this was written on his fan cafe (which is a member-only closed group), and he said that he was writing this in hurry for his fans and specifically mentioned that he didn't want it publicized. of course there must be some reporters in the fan cafe because four hours later (he wrote it around 4am) it was all over the web, and not even the full post...
so the wording may sound more personal and less formal for an apology, but this was not meant to be some official apology he released it to the press.


i've written my thoughts in the other post but i just feel like this is blown way out of proportions. like the number of articles written about this issue and the number of times his name made the trending list far exceeded other times like when an idol getting caught drunk driving or a certain entertainment company gets caught embezzling (cough).

I didn't say anything in the other post, but I'm not disappointed by what he did. Yes it would've been great if he had taken the fan's gift, but ignoring her wasn't a crime. He already didn't seem like a people person, and is shy of attention. I learned that within a few hours of being his fan (not even a huge fan at that). It's unfortunately not a good look for him, but I don't hold it against him. He ignored her. He didn't knock her down.

There was no need for him to apologize. He doesn't need to accept gifts if he doesn't want to. He doesn't have to say hi if he doesn't want to. He has the right to feel annoyed at someone coming up into his personal space. If you're going to be one of those crazies that wait for celebs at airports, watch them from afar at least. From what I saw in the video, it was his security that was holding the girl back, which is their job. I just can't with some of these fans' sense of entitlement. Netizens continue to be annoying, but nothing new there.

I also don't really believe this manager mix-up story, but I bet his company told him that it was best to frame the situation like this so that fans don't get butthurt over the fact that he has the right to ignore them if he wants to. Fans need to get off their high horses.

The apology seems pretty sincere to me, although perhaps I'm naive in that I sooner believe the best rather than the worst in people. Either way, everyone does bad things now and then and at least from what I've gathered he's usually a warm person so it's rather exception than rule. It's what I'd like to believe anyhow. In the videos I've seen of him he seemed pretty sympathetic.
