Woobin seems really friendly in those fansigning videos ive seen of him. Telling young girls to stop wearing make-up and really making conversations. And bb is really working on his relationships in the industry circle. Ive seen so many celebs text him on a show and he'd reply right away. And whenever someone he meets gives him their contact number, he reaches out to the sunbae first regardless if that sunbae probably just did it for formality or really wanted to be friends.

*sigh* he fucked up. Period. I say that as a huge fan and as someone who usually rolls their eyes at "attitude controversies" (re: Hyuna @ Beatles Code & Kara, Sulli and Krystal, Teayeon @ Radio Star etc. etc. etc.)

The video is really bad and totally made me cringe; idols usually have to deal with literal mobs of fans and people like Kris and Luhan have actually gone out their way and like struggled past their managers to try and accept gifts from the fans, it's a small gesture but it goes a long way. Not cool :(

Netizens are too quick to judge in my opinion. Like, there's no thought or consideration behind these comments. You didn't stop to think that Jong Suk could be hella tired / annoyed / just wants to get on the freaking plane like a normal person would? You didn't also stop to think that, at its core, appearing at an airport to deliver gifts to people who already have baggage in their hand isn't as sweet as it looks. It's inconvenient and inappropriate. Technically when a star is at the airport - that's their private time. It's not an official fan meeting or fan event where giving gifts is totally appropriate. That and in the video a guy (a manager?) just pummeled right between LJS and the fan preventing the gift from being given OR taken.

I mean it's so easy to say "Oh he's rude." But I really wish people would stop and think about the situation. I mean we weren't there. We're not the fan. We're not LJS. How can we judge so quickly?

i'm quote on quote sensitive to these things bc i think it's really sad when fame gets to someone's head and they start acting all privileged, especially when they live off their fans. as always, netizens are overreacting and blowing things out of proportion bc they're bored, he deserves his privacy and it should be respected, but even if you're tired or in a rush, you can shake your head or be minimally polite in turning the gift down. if she went all the way there with a gift, she's also probably to thank for a portion of his wealth.

When I first read about it, I thought it seemed overblown, but in the video the way he turns away really does seem rude - especially since it was just one fan.

Maybe she is a fan that follows him everywhere and intrudes on his privacy all the time and so he reacted by turning away - although he hardly appears to even look at her... so it probably is his fame gone to his head.

And wow, the video has nearly 200,000 views. His popularity will need more than a bandaid to stop the bleeding...

In the moment, I probably wouldn't want to deal w/ this stuff 24/7 either and would probably act the same way if I was in total spoiled bitch mode trying to get on my flight. ex. When I see photos of Luhan at Beijing airport, I literally cringe @ how overwhelming it must be. I've seen photos of flight attendants getting his sig and stuff..

But, most people commenting here are right. This comes w/ the turf and as a celebrity, you kind of have to deal, whether to protect your image, or ideally, to show your gratitude and thanks to those who impelled you to stardom. Got to have perspective and not get too caught up.

I totally think it has to do with attitude and situation too. I can never watch those fancams of Luhan at Beijing airport because he literally can't move (he was on a bus so I got that sort of) but fans also had their cameras shoved in his face and it makes me super uncomfortable. In those situations I would understand if he was a bit more cold (even though he wasn't), but in this situation it really does just make Lee Jongsuk look like a jerk, especially with how the fan seemed to really just want to give him the gift and she was pretty respectful while waiting too (minus the grabbing when she did get to him).

I have no problem with his behavior whatsoever. None. I actually wish more idols/celebrities did stuff like this more often. To me, performers are performers when they are onstage, on TV, at fanmeetings/events... and at all other times they are simply people. They should be able to exist in the world with relatively the same anonymity as most of us do. Fans should not feel entitled to a celebrity's space, their time, or their attention.

She wanted to give him a gift or a letter? Should have sent it through official channels.

Sidenote; if I was a celeb I'm come out with a two lists of things I was okay with my fans buying me every year. One list would be split between fansites (because 11 macbooks and 2 espresso machines is a too much) and the other would be things for singular fans to buy, stuff I could handle having multiples of. And of course, encourage people to also donate.

this just pissed me off so much the way it was all over the internet yesterday and honestly people keep saying how it would have been worse for female idols but i think the backlash he got is way too much for what happened and same could be said if it were someone else, female idol or whomever.

fans don't stand directly outside of the celebrities' car, and all the other fans and reporters were waiting for him on the opposite side of the crosswalk. i honestly think that he genuinely did not expect to see a fan there and according to his on his fan cafe he thought it was one of his staff pulling at him while they were all in a rush so... and as for that fan she followed him into the airport where he took the gift anyway. also even if you're a legit fan i don't understand how that gives you the right to pull on someone, like you're a complete stranger to the guy.

he is so nice to his fans. even to the sasaengs. fans know that and they get worried that he's too nice and i can't believe of all things he'd get in trouble for it's the fan service stuff and not like saying some stupid thing on variety or something (which is much more likely).
