SNSD's Soo Young revealed that she was disappointed in the past that SNSD was a 9 member girl group.

Yoona, Soo Young, Yuri and Sunny were the four SNSD members who went on a recording of SBS Ya Shim Man Man 2 which will be shown on 17th August. When asked about how their feelings before their debut, Yuri said, "The competition was really intense before we (SNSD) finally debuted", while Soo Young expressed, "When we were getting ready to debut, I was told it would be a 3 member girl group. But when it was became a 9 member girl group instead, I was disappointed."

As for the popularity levels of each member, Yoona said, "With regards to which is the most beautiful member in the group, I feel that it's different for each member judging on the time. Before our debut, Tae Yeon, Tiffany and me were considered to be the prettiest members in the group. But that has changed recently."

If we think that competition in SuJu was intense, then in SNSD it must have been hundred times worse since girls craves for attention more.

ngl, I'd be pissed if I was told I'd be in a NINE MEMBER group as well. I think so far it's worked out for them but to me they're never gonna be on like...Wonder Girls' level.

I like SNSD, but...imo, the talent isn't lacking yet the individuality/spunk/feeling of closeness to the fans is never going to be as much as it can be with fewer-member groups.

Honestly, I do not get how Taeyeon is in that sentence. Pre-debut, she was pretty much the ugliest girl in the group, next to Sunny and Hyoyeon. Their stylists have been doing a damn good job throughout this year though.

And I'd bet competition is fierce. SM probably has an army of young female trainees under them, all eager to debut and get out.

I really do try to understand this great sparkling, rainbow-shooting, Yoona-is-so-pretty fascination. She has moments of cuteness but mostly she looks gawky and weird to me. Sooyoung on the other hand is a hottie :X

i've always thought she was pretty, vaguely, but she's never stood out to me as the prettiest member. she just seemed one of the prettier members at debut, when they were all kinda awkward, so maybe those feeling carried over? idek.
