I know Heechul likes to come off as a bit of a jerk, but when he shows his sweet side it hits me right in the heart. And it seems to be so often that that sweet comes out in relation to Henry and Zhou Mi. It's like, Heechul's become my bias at one remove just because he's so damn sweet to my actual biases. ♥
It continues to confuse and upset me that there are so many people in Super Junior and only one of them can bother to be encouraging to Mimi like this. There is another gif from this set where he says that Heechul was the only one, anyway.

I would like it if Kyuhyun came on ITC. To be sure, when they put out the teaser "which will it be? Victoria, Heechul or Kyuhyun?" I was like "Can we please have all of them?"
Your second paragraph is just what I'm talking about. For a group that makes a lot out of being a team and a family, there's a lot of not getting involved, and Heechul being outspoken about Mimi can be easily written off as Heechul just being Heechul. I think it would still be meaningful for Kyuhyun to say "hey, Zhou Mi is a really great and talented guy, and I care about him. You [or maybe just Gamers] should support him too." He doesn't have to address the antis or anything like that.
As much as Singapore for me, I think the defining moment was Henry, Ryeowook and Eunhyuk and then Kris and some other EXO boys on Hello Counselor. The disconnect between Henry and Kris' reaction to the African man talking about his experiences in SK with Eunhyuk was as sharp as Ryeowook's physical support for Henry. It seems like a case could be made for Ryeowook being to Henry something like what Kyuhyun is to Mimi, but Ryeowook isn't as outspoken, and I think even during the Trapped promotions he changed his Twitter usericon to Henry and then changed it back when fans complained? These sorts of things can't be good for anyone's morale.
And I want to be like "have you nothing else to say, Ryeowook? Some teenage girls hiss at you and you and you do as they say? Is that the message that you want to send, that bullying works and if we make a couple of people publicly miserable in the name of record sales, that's ok? Kangin? Siwon, is your Christian conscience not moved more than this? Leeteuk, Heechul could support HenMi from the military, why can't you [granted he's got troubles of his own right now, but I mean before this]? Yesung?"
Finally, I agree with Heechul that there's nothing more than what he's doing that he can do. But there is a solution. It's just not within Heechul's power to affect. Thus identifying Lee Sooman by name.

I have a newfound interest in zhou mi and fei (don't get me wrong, i find her super beautiful! but biases are jia/suzy) after watching their last episodes, so I'm glad there's more of it. And yay, heechul's the guest!
