OT but I just thought of something. I'm almost afraid to ask because Korean age is confusing as shit, and I know people make exceptions just because, but didn't Woohyun and Key originally get close because they're both '91 line? Woohyun's birthday is in early February though so doesn't that make him the same age as '90 line (can't remember if he refers to Dongwoo as hyung though)? As in he should be Key's hyung? /sigh this age system needs an instruction manual.

I'm just going to go watch the teaser over and over again and appreciate their friendship kbye.

yeah, he's technically a "90-line chingu", but i think they're just close enough that it doesn't matter. and i remember an article posted here where a lot of koreans were confused themselves about the age system, so probably a lot of people don't even bother lol

I've always wondered that as well. People born in January-February are chingus with the people born in the preview year so he should be considered Key's hyung but he just calls him by his name. But then again, Key also doesn't call Jonghyun "hyung" when he's an actual 90-liner so idk.

I'm also confused because for example Yunho was born in February 86' so he should be 30 in Korean age because he should be considered a 85-line chingu but he said he turned 29 (like all the 86-liners in Korea) so idk. The way they count the age is really really confusing.

you're absolutely right. key's kind of the important factor too. he reeeally dgaf about the age thing (which is obv not necessarily unique to him either). if you're born at any point in 91 you're the same age to him; hell even if you're not a 91 liner and he doesn't want to use/feels he can get away with not using honorifics he won't - e.g. irang in raising idols who was several years older than him and who he refused to call noona lol.

It depends on the individuals involved, like it's a case-by-case thing. Woohyun could either be a friend or hyung to someone from the '91 line. He could also be friend or dongsaeng to someone from the '90 line. It's something the two people have to agree to. Woohyun makes the other 91-ers in Infinite call him hyung, he and Dongwoo are friends.

It makes more sense when in a school setting, because Woohyun's graduation year would be the year before Key & them.
