It's really weird if you think about it, Sistar randomly has so many #1 hits that stay on the chart for weeks. However, their album sales, fan base, and just general public recognition (outside of Hyorin) are awful. At least compared to how well they do on the charts, something is not adding up.

I'm not surprised. They don't have the looks that would appeal to koreans + they don't really do cute fan service. The girls are blunt and honest and rarely put up a front, K-pop is all about the visuals. Most people that Like them are probably older adults that would pay a few cents for their songs, and their general public recognition is pretty huge considering the public are aware of who the girls are, especially Dasom with her going into acting. Ask the people on this site why they wouldn't stan this group and most will bring their looks into the equation. Why do you think Bora is hugely liked?

srsly, i'm in awe of starship, they're making sm/jyp/yg look as amateurs. they not only established sistar as a group but also took care of girls' separate activities and slayed the sexy/cute concept. the only thing i'm wishing for is better mini than the last, but other than that A+ for starship

I think they' are trying to bring the other girls into the limelight to get fans from other categories and then slowly work their way into building up their fanbase. Some is a really cool, enjoyable song. I love it and both of them deserves the sales. They rank good since the beginning, Soju already did great with Mad Clown. That Sistar doesn't have crazy fans buying all the albums multiple times doesn't mean they aren't successful.

Did anyone see how I-chart is literaly pitching Mr. Mr. and Come Back Home against each other? First it was just a banner, in each side showing one of the albums pics but now they substituted that by a 'Mr. Mr' VS 'Come Back Home' banner that explicitly puts the amount of likes on facebook side to side. o.O Instiz ichart is usually so lean and conservative.
