Female ballad duo Davichi has ended their contract with their agency, Core Contents Media.

On February 28, a source of the duo told MBN Star News, “Davichi has ended their contract with Core Contents Media. They have decided not to renew the contract.”

Davichi’s contract with Core Contents Media ended on February 23. The duo and the company had been carefully discussing a possible renewal, but it was decided that Davichi will leave the company.

No official announcement has been made on what direction the duo will go in the future. Davichi is unquestionably the leading female vocal group, and it is reported that companies have already started showing them interest.

Davichi debuted in 2008 under Core Contents Media with their first album, “Amaranth.”

They left last year when their contract expired the first time and decided on a new agency, but at the very last second they ran out of the new agency and screwed them out of millions of dollars. Then they chose to extend the contract with CCM for one more year.

Oooh their contract had expired? I thought they were going like rogue and CCM put a stop to it.

nope, they had a 5 year contract from 2008-2013. SeeYa also had a 5 year contract from 2006-2011. If the same is the case for T-ara (I don't know how long theirs is, it's just a guess based on the rest of CCM's groups) their contracts would expire in July this year so I'm curious to see if anything will happen then

they tried to leave with their former managers before but that was shut down fast

But for how long? lol. CCM probably owns the name "Davichi" and I wonder if they'll have to buy it back from them if they want to use it elsewhere, it's always hard to transfer agencies as a group and keep the name.

random but amaranth was such an amazing album. as a huge korean ballad fan the album is such quality and isn't boring which is really rare for ballad albums (unless you are lee sun hee aka queen of korean pop in general)

Just here to point out that they said the same thing in 2012... hopefully the extra year allowed them to steal a few CM producers (not sure if they can keep the same sound in their new label).

didn't they leave ccm before and then their new manager's company was disbanded and they returned to ccm? I don't feel like ccm will let them go

The stuff in this thread about being forced to go back to CCM is scary.
