DAY 14 (Only one more day left!): OMONALYMPICS FFA/STREAMING POST, SOCHI-STYLE~

It's that lovely time again where we all get to cheer on our country's top athletes...as well as our favorite Korean athletes too! This FFA will serve as a place to gather and chat about the games with your fellow Omonazens and there will be a new post every day with updates about medal counts, crazy wins, or heart-crushing losses.

Also incredibly frustrated with my roommates who think I'm being ridiculous for being upset with the figure skating results. Like, I don't ignore you when you blab in about hockey results.

I'm just so done with Sochi. This Olympics has been the worst in every way and I hope it's remembered as the worst olympics of all time.

Also proud of the other two Korean skaters! I wish we have some promising male ones. Mao did surprisingly well in free, and really nice that Kushner didn't flop.

WOOOOOOOP! CANADA JUST WON A SILVER AND GOLD IN WOMEN'S FREESTYLE SKI!!!!


Is it just me or do canadian women tend to win more than men? Lemme check the medal tables.

ok holy crap! canada is ranked #1 with 6 golds when it comes to women athletes. we only got 2 golds from our men and they are ranked at #9.




And with the new additions Canada is sitting in 2nd place. WE'RE BACK IN BUSINESS BABY!!!!!! See ya later 5th place.

We watched Yuna's performance live and my mother (who doesn't really care) said it was phenomenal, but it was nice that Russia got gold in their home country. At least three countries' commentators (the Brits were one, but they mentioned chatting to other commentators who did so too) called Yuna getting gold before her performance had even finished. When she didn't get it, they showed slow-motions of both Adelina's and Yuna's performances and Yuna's was perfect and Adelina stumbled twice and some of her jumps weren't perfect, and the commentators were absolutely in shock, saying that yes Adelina was great, but she didn't deserve gold over Yuna, especially by a whopping 5 points, and I agree. And after watching it, my mum 180'd her opinion, saying there was no way Adelina should have got it. That's going to be something people argue over for a while, I think, along with Elise Christie's disqualifications.
(ETA: I wonder if Yuna regrets coming out of retirement to only get silver? But she skated her absolute best and there's nothing she could have done to improve.)

Speaking of, today Britain gets one more medal for definite (silver or gold; if gold it'll bring up GB's total of gold medals since the Winter Olympics began in 1924 to 11), and possibly two more, one for Elise Christie if she doesn't get disqualified from her event unlike the other two and the men's bobsleigh team who are on course for a medal. Super excited! This is our best Winter Olympics ever!

Another ETA: yesterday the skiing with the fall was hilarious; best finish line ever! And I looooved the French 1-2-3 podium. :D
