2014-02-20 10:10 pm
B.A.P who debuted two years ago, has won in the ground wave music program.
Q: 5 months have passed since you released your album last year in August. Please give a word towards fans who have been waiting for B.A.P
Himchan: Babys, you all waited for a long time, right? We, B.A.P, waited for a long time to meet everyone as well. Because we put in a lot of effort in order to show a better side, please look forward to it! Thank you for waiting, and I’m always thankful.
Daehyun: We have finally come back with our first official album! Although we’ve done it so far, we worked really hard to prepare in order to not make our ‘official’ album title look bad. From the preparation steps to the release, I feel like this album is really for you guys. I ask for a lot of love!
Zelo: To everyone who have been waiting and anticipating B.A.P, thank you so much! I’m already nervous in thoughts of meeting you all! Please love this promotion a lot as well, I love you ♥
Q: Recently, a lot of spoiler picture updates came up through the members’ Twitter accounts, right? It seems like you guys prepared for a long time, so please introduce your amazing album.
Yongguk: B.A.P’s first official album, ‘First Sensibility’, is an album that brings forth B.A.P’s hidden emotions. You will be able to view various emotions in 13 different stories.
Youngjae: Although the fact that there’s 13 tracks fills up the large amount quota, we also tried out many various genres musically as well. We wanted to show that we improved as musicians, rather than simply showing a matured male.
Jongup: Truthfully, the fact that it’s our first official album alone has a different meaning to it, right? I feel that it’s a bit more special.
Daehyun: As much as we’ve prepared a lot for it, I want to express that it’s really a perfect album. You will be able to see a new side of B.A.P that’s masculine yet dandy!
Q: I heard that there’s 13 tracks on this album since it’s your first official album. Is there a song that you feel affection for especially or want to recommend?
Yongguk: For this album, I was able to participate in various songs starting from the planning stage. Like the phrase that “Every child is dear to his parents”, I feel affection towards them all. However, if I had to pick a song to recommend, I would recommend ‘Shady Lady’ to females, and ‘BANGX2’ to males.
Himchan: Personally, I feel affection towards the 3rd track, ‘Easy’. Although there are lyrics that express the emotions after breaking up, maybe it’s due to the groovy and R&B hip-hop sounds, but I feel like it’s very relaxing, and easy to concentrate to the lyrics. The lyrics are written well too, of course! You’re going to hear it right away, right?
Daehyun: I want to recommend ‘With You’. First off, the emotional melody is really good, and it relaxes your heart. I hope the message that ‘you’re not alone, and I will always be together with you and protect you’ can get sent to the heart of the person listening to it as well.
Youngjae: In this album, there really isn’t a bad song among the 13 tracks. I especially like ‘Shady Lady’ though. It’s a song that sweetly talks about a man who tells a girl who wants to become pretty that he understands how she feels, but she’s beautiful just as she is without dressing up.
Jongup: I really like ‘SPY’! It’s an exciting song that makes those 3 minutes go by in the blink of an eye. I think the fun and light speed allows you to naturally follow the rhythm just by listening to it.
Zelo: As we prepared for this album, we were able to try out various genres. However, I think I feel more affection towards a hip-hop song that suits B.A.P the most. I recommend ‘Check On’, which is the 5th track included! Since it’s a song that shows B.A.P’s confidence of being able to show an amazing stage whenever, wherever, please listen to it!
Q: Just by looking at the title of ‘B.A.B.Y’, which was included in the tracklist that Yongguk revealed, I can feel the love towards your fans. With that in mind, what do BABYs mean to B.A.P?
Yongguk: BABYs are always the epitome love and respect for me!
Himchan: The reason B.A.P exists? Since B.A.P exists, because BABYs are there.
Daehyun: If you read B.A.P out loud, it sounds like ‘bap’ (rice), so if we’re rice, then BABY’s are ‘fried tofu skin’s’? That’s why when B.A.P and BABYs are together, the best inari sushi gets made! To be honest, my favorite food is inari sushi, haha!
Youngjae: BABYs are the best partners and friends that always match step-in-step with us.
Jongup: Best friends now? BABYs will probably understand what I mean! Haha, although I’m not able to express it all, we’re able to feel close through our hearts.
Zelo: BABYs are the oxygen to B.A.P! Because if there aren’t BABYs any more, I think we really won’t be able to live!
Q: We’re able to see Zelo listening to music a lot with earphones in his ears, so please recommend songs that you enjoy listening to (or songs that bring up your mood when you listen to them).
Zelo: Michael Jackson’s ‘Billie Jean’! It seems like a classic song never loses its value no matter how much time passes. Although it’s a song that I personally enjoy, it’s also a song that makes me think, ‘B.A.P definitely has to make music that’s good to listen to whenever one day’.
Q: Jongup, who has been followed back by Chris Brown, I can feel your swag from your dancing that’s different from others. Is there’s a warm-up song that B.A.P’s dancer wants to really recommend?
Jongup: Sean Kingston’s ‘Beat It!’ It’s a really exciting song. It’s a song that I usually enjoy listening to, and not just when warming up before a practice.
Q: Youngjae, you recently had a private conversation at the fanmeeting with a cute fan that ‘exploded in tears because she was so happy’, but what did you quietly tell her?
Youngjae: Uhm…. I’ll keep this as a secret between me and that fan! Since secrets have more meaning when they’re cherished and kept.
Q: Daehyun, have you met a fan that screams louder than your shouting octaves? Please share your ways to care for your honey vocals for the fans that are always greeting B.A.P with passionate cheers and support.
Daehyun: Our fans are always cheering us on with voices that are louder than mine. That’s why I’m able to find them quickly whenever! I heard that the juice of pears or bellflower roots are good, so I usually drink those.
Q: 2014 is the year of the horse! Bang Yongguk and Himchan are horse years among the B.A.P members, but do you guys have any plans for B.A.P this year?
Yongguk: Rather than say that there’s a special meaning, because it’s the year of the horse, I’m the time to plan out resolutions every time the new year starts. As much as my goal for this year is to always be with good music like I am now, I’m hoping to meet with more fans around the world as well through better music and stages. And it would be even better if I’m able to show my self-composed songs, right?
Himchan: To add onto that, I hope that it would be a year full of happy events and events that make you feel good for not just the B.A.P members, but for everyone else as well.
Q: If there’s an experience that fits ‘I ran faster than a horse at this time’, please introduce it.
Daehyun: When I was younger, there was a scary dog at this alleyway that I passed. Whenever I saw him, I debated whether I should pass by him or not, but then I brought up courage and ran thinking, ‘Let’s just go!’, but it suddenly began chasing me. I think at that moment, I ran with superhuman powers.
Q: The news about your concert at the 2014 SK Olympic Handball Arena has been updated! ‘This concert is different from last years’, if there’s something like that, please introduce it!
Yongguk: Although there are many things I want to say, I’ll give no comments about it right now. You anticipate it more, right?
Youngjae: We’ll be able to show a more relaxed and matured B.A.P than from last time.
Zelo: When you think of B.A.P, you usually think of the ‘warrior’ image, however, since we’ll be showing the tracks from the newly released album, I think we’ll be able to approach the fans in a more emotional way. Of course, we can’t forget the fierce B.A.P-like performances as well!
Q: B.A.P have been giving various changes since their debut from music to topics. Have there been any concepts/topics/genres that you wanted to try out besides those?
Yongguk: Although there are a large variety of music genres, sometimes I want to try music that throws away the serious mood and is filled with playfulness, but can still show a message about society.
Himchan: No matter what style we show or what music we do, I just wish for the six of us to be able to dance and song on stage together even when we pass 30. Something like the drama, ‘A Gentlemen’s Dignity’?
Daehyun: I’m listening to a lot of jazz music lately, so I’ve been thinking that I definitely want to try it out!
Youngjae: We’ve been showing a lot of heavy messages towards society till now, so if we’re given the opportunity, I want to sing a song with hope as the topic, and give good energy to a lot of people.
Jongup: I have a greed to want to learn hip-hop and R&B a bit more seriously, and show it properly.
Zelo: Funky Style! If it’s a funky that’s done by B.A.P, wouldn’t that be a fun try as well?
Q: If each of the members were to pick a role model musically?
Yongguk: Since I listen to a variety of music, it’s hard to choose, but I think I’m receiving a lot of influence from jazzy artists lately. Artists like Miles Davis or James Black.
Daehyun: Bruno Mars lately! I feel that he has a healing strength in his voice. I want to become a vocalist like that as well.
Jongup: My role model is always Chris Brown! I believe that he is really an amazing artist.
Himchan: Since I truthfully believe that you can learn something from everyone, it’s hard to pick just one person.
Zelo: Same for me as well. I’m receiving a lot of influences from many artists.
Youngjae: In order for B.A.P to also become someone’s role model one day, our goal is to continue to do good music.
Q: Lastly, please say something towards the Soribada members!
Yongguk: We will become a B.A.P that always does music with a feel. Please take care of us, thank you!
Youngjae: Soribada family members! I hope that you will become happy as you listen to the many good songs on Soribada! You’ll listen to B.A.P’s songs a lot too, right?
Jongup: Please love B.A.P’s first official album’s title song, ‘1004 (angel)’, a lot! Please love Soribada a lot too! Please love B.A.P a lot as well!

YONGGUK
"A love song from a movie. I often watch romantic comedies."
Sharp eyes, and a very deep rapping voice. B.A.P’s leader Bang Yongguk has a very cool character for an idol. “Music is not only to enjoy, I think that there is a lot to learn from it too. That’s why we have meaningful lyrics. I want to make them so that they are still valuable even as time passes.” He has a hand in what could be said B.A.P’s particularity, lyrics that deliver messages to society. “Whenever I have time, I write lyrics or music. There are times when I think too much but I’m having fun!” He also writes love songs. The song “Secret Love” that became a topic in Korea is about the relationship between two celebrities. Was is from experience? “I get this question a lot, but I was inspired by the movie “Nothing Hill” (laughs). I also like Woody Allen’s “Midnight in Paris” and have watched it countless times.” It seems that he likes romantic comedies. Like the main character, has he ever been between caught between two women? “No way! Like the main character, I want to meet Hemingway and Picasso in nighttime Paris (laughs) ” he tells us about the movie with a very cute smile. “When I get a girlfriend I’ll care for her. I’ll be nice to her. If we go eat BBQ, I want feed her meat wrapped in lettuce (laughs).”
HIMCHAN
"Instead of giving things, I want to look for things we can do together."
Himchan has a noble air about him, and used to be part of the elite, studying traditional korean instruments. “My major was percussions. I studied it until university but I became attracted by pop music and rap and so I entered the entertainment industry.” Even during his high school days, his good looks were known. “Huhu, I was even more popular than now (laughs). For Valentine’s day, I always got both my hands full of chocolate. I’m joking!” What first gift would the popular Himchan get his girlfriend? “I want to look for something that we can do together. It would make her happier than if I were to give her something, right?” Does the gourmet and good at cooking Himchan wants to cook together with his girlfriend? “First I’d like to take her to a good restaurant. If she’d rather have something home cooked, I can cook most things so I’d make her what she likes.” An answer that hints at how wonderful of a husband he’ll be in the future. “Japanese food is really good. The okonomiyaki was delicious, so much that I’d really like to come to Japan privately for a trip.” He’s studying Japanese everyday, and even during the break he lightheartedly chats in Japanese. “Right now I’m really into Japanese movies, I watched “Kamome Shokudo” yesterday.” He’s even studying from movies. Music, cooking, Himchan has made things his with efforts. It seems that the day when he’ll speak fluent Japanese is close!
DAEHYUN
"When I get a girlfriend I really want to share a pair item with her."
Eyes that get you drawn in and a refreshing smile. He can sing 7 octave high notes and give’s B.A.P’s music a certain color. “It’s not like I was able to sing high notes from the beginning. I acquired it step by step, with vocal practice. You’ll probably feel refreshed after hearing me sing!” With both a perfect voice and perfect looks, his fans are divided between those who prefer him with bangs and those who prefer him without. “I think bangs suit me better~” he laughs shyly. Men from Busan are said to be quiet and masculine, but Daehyun unexpectedly seems to like to talk. During a break we saw a playful side of him as he played with the mantle of his outfit, imitating Batman. “Recently I’m into writing lyrics. I record words that I like, and later make them into stories.” He seems like he would be even more popular once he start saying sweet words. “The first time I was popular was around my third year of high school, just before I came to Seoul to be a trainee. I was also singing then so maybe I stood out a bit (laughs)” He was famous for his looks even before debut and is also nicknamed “Busan Wonbin.” “When I get a girlfriend I really want to share a pair item with her. Sneakers or clothes.” The Daehyun that imagines seriously his future lover is also cute.
YOUNGJAE
"On a stage just for her, I want to sing her a song that I wrote."
Calm and with a cute boy aura, Youngjae. He greets us “I’m Youngjae, in charge of the main vocals and the baby face.” Pretty eyes and long eyelashes, his face is very cute. His Japanese is very good; he answers all of our questions in Japanese. “I study Japanese by watching anime and dramas. But the best is just to really takes lessons and study hard.” This is where is nickname “Brain” comes from. In their Japan debut event, he said “We’ll return twice the support we got from fans!”, a famous line from the drama “Hanzawa Naoki”, and it became a hot topic. “Actually, I hadn’t watched the drama at that time (laughs). I watched it after coming back to Korean and I got really hooked.” In Korea, all the members live together in a dorm. What is something he did for the first time recently? Youngjae thinks and Zelo whispers in his ear. “Ah, I ate the kimchi that Zelo’s grandmother made. It was delicious!” He smiles an impossibly cute smile. Youngjae seems strategic in his approach to confessing to a girl. “I’d rent a small live house, and I’d sing her a song I wrote. A stage just for her. I guess I’d wear a simple suit~” There isn’t a girl who wouldn’t fall for him while listening to his beautiful voice up close. This kind of surprise performance is also part of Youngjae’s gentleness.
JONGUP
"What kind of present I’d give my girlfriend? Something I like (laughs)."
He’s labeled as mysterious by the other members and has a particular sensitivity. “People around me say that the fact that they can’t understand me is interesting and it’s that’s my charm… I guess?” Usually smiling, Jongup leaves a soft impression. But, he seems like a completely different person when he’s dancing on stage, full of strength. “Our dances have big movements and are strong. We usually have choreographies that are very masculine. I think the most difficult one is “Power”. It’s hard to do small movements and keep the rhythm.” Expected of the group’s dancing machine, he’s talkative when it comes to dancing. When we ask him about his first experience in Japan, Jongup tells us “We went to have Okonomiyaki. It was made in front of us and the process and the design was very interesting. I thought that there must be a lot of specific elements involved into making it.” His thoughts about the first gift he would give his girlfriend are also particular. “Hmm, I’ll chose something I like (laughs). I’ll give her sneakers. Because I think that girls that wear Air Jordans are cute.” He graduated high school last year but was he popular in school? “Not at all! But I always got one chocolate for Valentine’s day. There was always a girl that would give giro-choco (T/N: “obligation chocolate”, chocolate you give someone you have no romantic attachment to.) to all the boys in the class (laughs).”
ZELO
"If I were to confess it would be with my song."
Zelo that distinguishes himself with his fast rap, attracts fans with his provocative expressions and impressive performance. He looks very mature on stage, but when he’s just talking with the other members he’s the youngest at 17, still full of cuteness. “When there are adults around I think of myself as a child but if it’s not the case I’m rather adult (laughs). I’m pretty cautious.” We heard from the other members that “Zelo’s sleep talk is amazing.” “I don’t talk in my sleep. I’m not a child!” About his fast rap, “Usually, I don’t act nor talk fast.”, he laughs shyly. The way his voice goes quieter when he reaches the end of sentences also contrasts to when he is on stage. “Before I go on stage, I empty my heart and think “This place is mine!” When I do this I can become B.A.P’s Zelo.” He is fashionable to the point that even when he’s just going to the convenience store he checks his outfit from head to toe. What about today’s outfit? “It’s my first time wearing clothes like these. I’ve never worn them as outfits or as regular clothes, but it’s a style I had been wanting to try so I’m happy.” The fashionable Zelo seems that he would be able to cooly confess to a girl. “I’ve never thought about it… Hm~m, what should I do.” He goes to Jongup for help. “I’d write her a song. Without setting anything up, I’d just tell her casually “I wanted you to hear this song!”

Date: 2014-02-20 03:34 pm (UTC)I'm really happy with the jazz sound they went with even if it was kinda hard to swallow at first. Why did none of them recommend Body & Soul or Save Me tho. Or the iconic S.N.S

Date: 2014-02-20 03:38 pm (UTC)I was just honored to be nominated with many famous stars and politicians. When I was young, my grandparents were into charity work. I think it’s because I grew up watching them.
:')
Aww now I'm curious what Youngjae and the crying fan talked about
