BTOB Member Changsub Promises To Shave His Head If 'Beep Beep' Reaches No.1

A special surprise might be in store for BTOB fans soon.

On February 17, seven-member K-Pop idol group BTOB made a comeback with their fourth mini-album, Beep Beep and the title track of the same name.

During their comeback showcase on February 17, member Changsub made a rather intriguing statement.

"If BTOB wins #1 with 'Beep Beep', I will shave my head out of a resolve to start anew," he exclaimed adding, "On my forehead, I will write 'Renewed'."

The other six members seemed supportive of the goal and suggested filming the shaving process. "What do you think about filming a video of you shaving your head like Won Bin in the movie The Man From Nowhere?" they teased.

Pleading with the fans in the audience, Changsub urged, "Help me so that I can shave my head and film a video like Won Bin in The Man From Nowhere," to which the crowd responded with laughter.

Named last year's Next Generation Star at the 27th Golden Disk Awards, BTOB has a solid chance of making Changsub's bald-headed dreams come true.

how popular are btob in korea ?
i always tend to forget there often is a huge gap between kpop idols' international popularity and the one in korea.
are they at the same scale as... idk, Vixx ? Bangtan ? higher ? lower ?

Idk bout BTS but when it comes to 2012 rookies, it's usually only Exo, BAP and VIXX that are mentioned. Well, it mostly was just BAP and EXO talk in 2012. Exo is exo. BAP had a really strong debut year, vixx had a great 2013. And for a while, it seemed like vixx could get ahead of BAP because of BAp's lackluster comeback in 2013 but BAP's recent release has been on point and got them many awards. If BTOB is managed well, i feel like they can really turn it around and be in the same league as their peers. Still, considering the many idol groups that we've never heard from again who debuted in 2012, btob is doing okay.

Iirc, sales for thriller was bad. Though i heard beep beep topped charts already so maybe this is their start to a new leaf in their careers. A lot of the members seem to be becoming fixtures in variety si maybe that'll help as well.

BtoB used to be above VIXX at the beginning of last year, but then Cube's terrible management screwed BtoB's little popularity over.
I remember how in April BtoB has almost two times members in their fancafe in comparison to VIXX but now it's the opposite. And VIXX sales were great, they exceeded 100k.Basically imho VIXX management did well in promoting them 24/7.
Cube CEO has this whole 'we need to expand to other south asian countries asap because korean market is too staturated' thing in mind but it would've served his rookies better if he waited with sending them overseas. I understand their promo in Taiwan or Thailand is kinda important but they need to secure a stable level of popularity before trying abroad.

I feel like btob has all the necessary ingredients to make a group popular. Solid performing skills and great variety personalities. So it's really a shame, that they're not where they should be in terms of popularity and recognition. Ugh cube!

IA. I think BTOB got pretty popular with Wow but then they went downhill while VIXX started to get really popular since they changed their fresh/youthful image for the dark one. So they basically started to get really popular since On and On and def established themselves with Vodoo. BTOB started well but they lost a lot of popularity due Cube's shitty management and their lackluster releases in 2013.

Why do I always manage to choose the trolls of a group to fall in love with? Although with BTOB, the number of trolls in the group is pretty high...and they're all pretty crazy...lol. WAE CHANGSUB?? I want to see them win, but damn it don't do this.
