AOA, Sunmi, BTOB. Brave reps, "He composes songs every day without a rest. He receives so many requests from different artists that he doesn't have a chance to take a break. He's currently working on Brave Girls and BIGSTAR's new albums, his 10th anniversary album, as well as the albums of other artists. It'll be a busy year for him."

1. [+157, -8] Brave Brothers is talented in that he can compose a lot of songs in a short amount of time but his problem is that they're not worth listening to for a long time. Not even lying when I say that I end up deleting his songs after 2-3 weeks;;

2. [+151, -23] The producer of hook songs without soul. He acts as if he's some amazing artist.

3. [+110, -13] Yeah he makes a lot of hit songs but.... yeah....

4. [+98, -11] I like his songs but his songs lately aren't that great. Not feeling Sunmi's... I'm thinking he's saving his good songs for his own idol groups ㅋㅋ

5. [+28, -3] Aside from his works for SISTAR, I feel like he doesn't put in too much effort in anyone else's. I liked AOA's song so I looked up more info on it and it ended up being a song SISTAR passed on..

6. [+25, -9] His songs are perfect for idols... Recyclable factory punch outs with immature lyrics and cheap melodies. Nothing that ever touches the heart...

7. [+16, -1] He's good at making songs fit with the trends. It's good listen to during the trend but you get sick of it fast.

what do you think omona? are his songs really repetitive or maybe there are a few that you still like to listen to, years after release? are there any better, less popular producers, that should've worked with the groups you like, instead of him?

btw this article got me reminded of the diss bagtan boys once made...

Screaming. YES.

Talk all the shit you want, but he's had a hand in lots of the songs y'all bop to and has basically supplied some of your faves with their greatest hits sooooo....

And yeah, I still listen to lots his tracks years after their releases. I mean, I still listen to and enjoy Sistar, U-Kiss, Afterschool, Teen Top, Rania, Son Dambi, and Big Bang so yeah, I like him alright.

i agree with netizens, he seems to have a formula to do things and hasn't had any creative songs in a while and i never really have interest in listening to it a lot, the only reason i do that is when i love the artist.

with that said, i really love his early work and i always listen to it, before he started to release the same song over and over again, only with a few details changed.

I rarely enjoy his work, but I recognize that his rather formulaic process produces "hits" (well, moderate ones at least) and he has tremendous influence over the industry outside of the Big 3.

His productions can sometimes be sooooo transparent tho, like "Beep Beep" is so painfully and obviously modeled after Growl. He just takes trends a jumps on them, he's NEVER ahead of the curve creatively *shrug*

admittedly his songs follow the same formula but they're all really catchy at first and I listen to them for a few weeks before getting bored and waiting for another song to come out.

though this probably applies to most music.

i did really love his old stuff especially before he and sistar took off but its not like his music now is bad its just the same melody over and over so if i liked the first im gonna like the others just not as much if that makes sense

his stuff is so hit or miss with me, tbh. like i can't stand most of sistar's stuff, but i like that aoa song he did.
he should switch up his formula, maybe have someone else write the lyrics, and stop doing that "brave sound" thing in the beginning of every song.

With the rise of idol groups (post-2011) his music equally became shit.

U-Kiss' ManManHani & Bingeul Bingeul, Sistar's So Cool & ALONE, some Son Dambi's stuff are a jam and I still play it now. Bestie's love option is good. The rest just nah. And the songs he release these days are just nah.

I like a lot of Brave Brothers tracks... even the ones that aren't timeless classics have ~energy~ and the fact that they're similar can make the new ones sounds catchier since they remind you of songs you enjoyed before.

Like for me,
One Two - Starry Night
AfterSchool - In the Night Sky
Electroboyz - Ma Boy 2
Sistar - Up and Down
BESTie - Love Options
Teen Top - To You

are Tier 1 songs I listen to all the time, and I like

Big Bang - Wonderful
One Two - Very Good
Son Dam Bi - Saturday Night
ZE:A - Aftermath
Brave Girls - Nowadays You
UKiss - Talk to Me, Man Man Ha Ni
Sistar - So Cool, Gone Not Around Any Longer, Bad Boy
4minute - Is It Poppin?
BIGSTAR - Standing Still

quite a bit as well, just for starters.

Clearly if you don't have a working relationship with the dude (cough SPEED) or he isn't interested in you anymore (cough UKISS) you are taking a huge gamble buying a song from him, since you could end up getting some other group's castoff, but dude has still produced a lot of really good music.

I loled at the U-Kiss. I personally think the company couldn't get out of Brave Brother stuff.
Because one of U-Kiss company (NH Media) trainee is actually a Brave Ent trainee, and Brave Brother gave NH to promote Big Star for one comeback. It's true BB is not interested in UKISS, rather using them.

Netizen 6 does have a bit of a point? This man tends to stick to a certain formula and his lyrics tend to be rather simple and cheap... I think he's done some pretty bad songs, but also some very good. Has recently released some pretty enjoyable stuff for AOA, 4Minute and Sunmi. His older stuff with After School, BigBang and Sistar was great too.

he's the worst. alone/gone not around any longer/first love/miniskirt/tand more I probably don't remember are variations of the same song. it sucks that ppl are desperate enough for a "hit" that they keep giving this one trick pony work

i really do want to hear that diss track lol but my youtube skills are failing me. OTL

eh brave bros is formulaic at best but it's not bad. you just know you're listening to a brave bros song bc they all have that same hook thing going on.

brave brothers is obnoxious but lbr alone was pretty much the song of the year and it's been influencing kpop releases ever since

i don't think it's for the best since i'm tired of midtempo pop songs and want kpop to go back to the more upbeat stuff

but it was very influential

YAS BRAVE GIRLS
he sucks for reciclying songs.
sometimes he's really good... the problem is when his good with a song, he makes 10 more that sounds like that one.
there are some songs he composed that i REALLY like:
Alone - Sistar
Do You Know/Easily - Brave Girls
One Way Love - Hyorin
Ma Boy/GNAAL - Sistar19
easily his best songs imo (from what ive heard from him)

edit: sometimes i kind of hate him bc hes killing sexy concepts with his midtempo songs jfc
and get away from 4minute pls

He needs to get the hell away from 4minute, Volume Up is the best direction for 4minute but then he had to come and ruin it. Same with Ice Cream. Stay away Brave sound.

He's too stretched thin, all his stuff sounds the same, he does make a jam now and then but his stuff is really forgettable, outside of Alone, I can't say any of his stuff has left a major impression.
