In what appeared to be a thinly veiled reference to SM Entertainment”s alleged requirement for their artists to get plastic surgery, F.T. Island guitarist and singer Song Seunghyun said he passed on a recording contract with the K-pop label when he was starting out, for fear of losing control over his body.
(The MC brought up that they heard he got cast by SM Entertainment at some point of time)
“It was back in middle school,” Seunghyun said on Tuesday”s episode on the South Korean television program “Beatles Code 3D.”
“I got lost at the fireworks festival when two women approached me, suddenly took a picture, gave me their card, and asked me to audition [for SM Entertainment]. The first person I saw when I went there was [Super Junior singer] Leeteuk. The very next day, Super Junior debuted.”
“But in the end, it didn”t work out,” he added.
“What scared me was the contract, which contained wording that suggested things such as giving up rights to my body.”
“Beatles Code” host and Super Junior singer Shindong couldn”t resist having a little bit of fun.
“What do you make of our company?” he jokingly asked the crowd. “Do we all give up the rights to our bodies?”

Define success. Many artist have a different meaning of that. So Success is subjective.
My point is SH at that young age knew he didn't want to sign his body figuratively or literally over to SM. So he had already surpassed and defined his success before he even pursued a career as a musician.

Date: 2014-02-12 04:02 pm (UTC)Jaw surgery is so scary and dangerous. A tiny mistake like hitting a blood vessel can result in you choking to death on your own blood. :( That happened to a Chinese starlet, I think. I remember reading about it. :(

Date: 2014-02-12 04:21 pm (UTC)face contouring is a joint word for things like jaw shaving, cheekbone reduction, chin argumentation, fat grafting (im not sure tho if it counts).
