Although she doesn’t look it, Girl’s Day So Jin surprised viewers by revealing her worries about age.

On February 4, So Jin and the other Girl’s Day members appeared on KBS’ Hello as guests to hear out the worries of Gag Concert comedians in a special episode.

Before they heard the first worry, the MC panel asked about Girl’s Day’s worries.

A bit hesitantly, So Jin stated, “I don’t really want to say it, but the fact that I turn 30 years old next is my worry.”

The MC panel and the audience all gasped in shocked, while MC Shin Dong Yeop jokingly added, “It might have been better if you didn’t mention that.”

So Jin was born in 1986. She will be turning 30 (Korean Age) in 2015.

1. [+6,175, -262] Hul... 30?? She doesn't even look 30, she's so youthful looking

2. [+3,849, -195] 30?? She really doesn't loko 30.. ㅋㅋ

3. [+2,813, -167] She's still so pretty and really young looking! Sojin fighting

4. [+1,224, -36] I'm more shocked over Ha Ji Won being 38...

5. [+681, -48] I feel like having an older unni like her in a group helps create balance and keep all of the members in check

6. [+576, -25] Sojin and Minah really kept Girl's Day together after three members left. They stayed till the end.

7. [+479, -40] She's really 30 next year? Got goosebumps... I thought she'd be 25 or 26 at max.

8. [+457, -53] What the heck, I thought she was a '90er at first.

It's so weird seeing idols who are in their mid 20s-close to thirty because I compare them with other folks I know who are that age and they look (generally) soooo much younger, it's crazy

That's the thing. Western people at that age look way older than their age. For example in my country many people in their late teens and early 20s look mid 20s and those who are mid and late 20s straight out look 30+ so more like these idols looking super young is more like they look their real age or a couple years younger in comparison to western people. I don't know if it's a genetic thing or a lifestyle thing tbh. Probably a combination of both.

and why people in asia always had that mindset Women in 30 = expired
*and we will be 30 in 2016,damn the way Korean count their age!!*

Only in Korea? Idk but I think the 30=old mentality is pretty common in general. But I agree that it's even more exaggerated in Korea. Still not over people calling Suju and DBSK "middle aged" when they're all in the 25-30 range. They expect to die by 50-60 then? o_o

whether getting worried or not, turning 30 or 40 and upwards is gonna happen to everyone with no excluding, a matter of time, lol such a depressing sentence. And damn I'll never get use to the Korean age system, I'll always be like what 30 when she's born 86 and then realize yeah it's Korean's age.

I feel the same way. I'd rather look forward to aging because there's nothing I can do about it.

but oh well. the more important is how old you FEEL at heart and in your mind. not the actual age. *trying to reassure myself*

You can be young at heart but lbr most of people think that 30 (or even anything above 25-26) = old. And the body start to decline too. I wish I was 22 again ngl :(

'86 line is the best, and I'm always delighted to hear about another idol my age. idk why I was under the impression that everyone in Girls Day was extremely young; I'll have to start paying them more attention now that I know otherwise.

This narrative that they look young doesn't work with me. She looks her age and not a day younger.
Rihanna is 26 and she definitely looks two to three years older.

I agree tbh. It's just that people are used to western celebrities (and people in general) looking way older than their age so asian idols look way younger in comparison but they just look their age or a couple years younger. I'd give her 25ish but definitely not less than that.

I'm a year older than her and I totally feel her pain. I've been kinda depressed since I turned 27 but now I'm even more depressed because this is gonna be my last year as a 20-something and it sucks asses :(. I think about it everyday.
I don't think she looks thaat young either tbh. I'd give her 25-26 but not 20 either. But most of people her age I know looks so old that she looks pretty young in comparison.

You have to think about the positives of getting older, and it's different for every person, but I'm sure you can think of some good things to look forward to in your late 20s/early 30s compared to your early 20s.

I'm 27 and the worst thing about getting older for me has been that my friends are all over the place instead of close by like when we were in school. We have to plan and make road trips to see each other instead of just meeting for coffee after class. Other than that? I have more money than I did when I was in school, so I can go on more vacations, support my hobbies, buy clothes I like, etc. I'm making progress in my career. Gaining more confidence in myself because I have some life experience to back it up. And guys in their late 20s are much more tolerable than when they were in their early 20s, lol. Try to look at it like that and you'll feel better.

I turned 30 last year and it was no big deal. I didn't feel old (though it did make my mom feel old for a minute) and I have good genes so I don't look anywhere near my age.

IDK why people beat themselves up over age. A friend's girlfriend came over with him for a visit and to meet my son and somehow got into this big rant about how at her age (26) she wanted to already be married and have kids. I felt bad for her boyfriend because she was very...almost nasty about it. Financially they just got on their feet a couple months ago, it made no sense to rush. I tried my best to change the topic but she was persistent and then got my 34 year old brother in law whining about the same thing. Jeez.

I've never warmed up to the idea of being old (80s) because of death, but I guess I'm lucky to have such a unique family history because it's taught me that I don't need to do everything by 30, just the important part like starting towards my career, and that there is time. I also have no intention for kids though, so I never put that into account which I know is a big thing that worries people.

Idk, the prettiest people are in their 30s: Hyori, Baek Ji Young, Beyonce, Rachel McAdams. Lupita.

I agree on the 80s part but hopefully we could live longer than that. Many people live up to 100 and biomedical science is advancing so who knows.

This post is so wonderful, because it maade me notice that there are a lot of us "older" fans. I don't feel so weird being so damn old noona nowadays, haha. ('86 here too!)

I'm not worried about getting in 30's, because it doesn't feel that old age anymore when you get closer to it. But it really sucks when the same aged friends start to buy houses, gtting married and having babies, when I'm not even close to that part of life yet. And it's not because I don't want to, because I really do want that already, which mkes it even worse.

But yeah, as legendary quote for MCR fandom states: 30 is not old... for trees!

If you were born after February in '82 then yes, you're probably 33 in Korea.

Sojin is turning 30 (Korean-age) in 2015, so she's already 29 (K-age, they age after New Year)/going on 28 (Western age, on her birthday) this year.

I hope her company doesn't put a lid on Girl's Day because of Sojin's age, that would suck. Apart from HyunA, all of Korea's "sexiest" women are older anyway.
