Great news for SM fans as the agency announced the return of SM The Ballad, adding yet another strong comeback in the month of February.

On February 3, SM sources spoke with My Daily and said, “SM The Ballad is planning to come back in February. They are currently in the last stages of preparation.”

SM The Ballad is a project group without fixed members but has a rotation of artists who specialize in vocals and have a strong presence in the ballad genre.

The SM source added, “The members of the past will not be in the group but this time, members from Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, f(x) and EXO will participate.”

Previously, SM The Ballad containing Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, SHINee’s Jonhgyun, Trax‘s Jay and Jino released “Miss You” in 2010.

Girls' Generation's Taeyeon, Super Junior's Yesung, EXO's Chen, and f(x)'s Krystal.

No he probably recorded his tracks before leaving and they probably won't be promoting this album much because the songs are either duets or solos.

I'm so excited for this. And I'm glad they included Krystal and not Luna (even though she is an amazing singer) because I feel like Krystal's role as lead vocalist in f(x) is unappreciated. But they shouldn't have paired her with Chen. Kyungsoo would be better (i.e. their harmonies in Goodbye Summer). Either way, I can't wait to hear the songs.

I'm glad too that Krystal is in this rather than Luna even though I enjoy her voice as well. Krystal may not stand at the same level as the others but I think this will force her to grow as a vocalists. Also, I think her and Chen would sound nice since Chen does have the ability to sing in a lower register

I'm anticipating the Taeyeon/Jonghyun duet, but why would you build a ballad unit and put in Krystal instead of Luna? I don't know if I'm particularly partial to Luna's voice, but technically she's one of the strongest idol vocalists and it seems a waste not to have her utilize her talent during an opportunity like this. Singing is pretty much her ONE THING and SM won't even let her have that, lol. Oh well. Krystal is the obvious weak link here, so I just hope that they kept her parts within her comfort range instead of trying to stretch her limits.

yeah i don't understand how YeYe can be in this unless they won't even touch promoting this. but if that is the case why not release KRYs korean album. it is done. i'm still holding out until something completely official comes out...cause it doesn't make full sense to have YeYe in this at all when they have so many other singers who can actively promote.
