It is 100 % real story for people who are sick of special movies. High quality? It is the realistic survival report of the youngest host, who survived in the jungle entertainment program in which the reality is all about biting and tearing apart. The revealing of survival tips as a baby poisonous snake, who was almost only the level of a normal person before, as someone who comes after Kim Goo Ra!

The special ability is to [get a] foot in. The place we stopped by first to meet Kyuhyun, it is the waiting room. Kim Gook Jin, Yoon Jong Shin, Kim Goo Ra and Kyuhyun were all gathered at one place. Sharing a small waiting room? As soon as we opened the door thinking that it will be lively and fun~ just like they do in the show… everybody froze.

It is quiet, calm and solemn. They are obviously sitting next to each other but they are not at all together. We have visited lots of waiting rooms so far but this atmosphere is the first time. At the moment we did not know what to do with an unexpected sight, Jeon Sung Ho, the producing director of ‘Radio Star’, says something.

▶ Survival tip 1. Script, script, script

Kyuhyun’s survival tip, first one is reading the script thoroughly. He grabbed the script as soon as he stepped into the waiting room. Pops in Seoul names Kyuhyun as the Best MC idol

Arirang's 'Pops in Seoul' names the idols who have great MCing skills. They are Super Junior's Kyuhyun, SHINee's Onew, Big Bang's Seungri, EXO's Chanyeol and SNSD's Sooyoung. Some of the criteria they have based upon on are being bold without getting nervous during the show, being quick and more.

Onew's charm and talkativeness earned him the 2nd spot as he showed skills in various radio and TV shows.

Lastly, we have Kyuhyun, who's not only a sought after musical actor but also a host whom TV producers are keeping an eye on for his bold and witty MCing skills. He gets compliment for being direct and straightforward especially in Radio Star. He even earned the title 'sharp tongued-idol'

Reminds me of that blind item from ages ago that was speculated to be Kyuhyun.

Broadcast star F has recently been receiving attention for his relentless way of speech, but it seems he wasn't born with that talent overnight. One insider who knows about F's past revealed, "I remember a few years ago he was so nervous that his hands would shake while just holding the script. We had to re-record his parts several times. It was troubling to see... He was really shy, especially moreso in front of women. Lately, however, he's become a new person." F is actually playing with veteran and more experienced MC G in the palm of his hands on variety programs. really? his sense of taking the rumor as something humorous? because 1) Kyuhyun never intended to talk about Seulgi and 2) everytime the Seulgi talk comes up, he looks rather uncomfortable with it.


Anyway, he has been RS MC for more than 2 years. He surely has improved a lot. Still remember how everyone already judged him during the first months of him MCing on RS. Glad that he is able to prove them wrong now.

It was a bit hard to understand the meaning of the sentence from the translation but I read it as the journalist giving Kyuhyun props for being able to laugh the rumour off, or in essence be a good sport about it.

I think I've read it before that the Korean audience seems to appreciate not only his "poison-tongue" but also his ability to bounce back and not take to heart all the stingers he receives from the other MCs and the guests.

Didn't check the Korean article before reading the translation, so I just did and found the translation to be correct. If I were to translate it, it would be "....sense that counters the rumor of preferring trainee over celebrity, with humor (joke)"

Well, a lot of people might find it funny and think it's okay because RS staffs or the other MCs almost always used it as a joke, so they might think it was okay to joke about it too. But Kyuhyun never looked like he thought it's funny. Same goes with the "ordinary people killer" thingy. When Kyuhyun asked people to stop labelling Seulgi as his "girl", some people commented something like, "Why would you talk about her if you didn't want her to be called like that?"....which imo it was really absurd because almost everyone could easily see he was not the one who brought up her name in the conversation and only continued to talk about her after being pushed by the others. And I don't think Kyuhyun is one who would be angry or throw a tantrum on broadcast. He may show that he's uncomfortable with it, but I think that is as far as he will do.

But yes, some people do comment how invulnerable Kyuhyun is, despite the attacks that he gets from other DJs or even the guests. If it was not for his strong determination when it comes to his work, I don't think Kyuhyun would be able to be at where he is now.

Yes, of course that's all true. None of this stuff, 'ordinary-person killer', 'Seulgi' has any real basis on anything at all. They were kinda tongue-in-cheek comments that got thrown at him on the show to make him flustered. But once it got reported online people who don't actually watch the show pick it up and take it as fact and then a new narrative gets going which eventually gets referenced on the show - and so the whole cycle starts again.

But what can he do? All his efforts to set the record straight have been met with mockery and laughter. It's better for him to just laugh it off and hope that eventually the focus will shift onto something else (although I'm sure that once Seulgi really does debut, it'll all start again...)
