[enews24 전수미 기자] Actor Cha Seung Won has signed an exclusive management contract with YG Entertainment, one of Korea’s top entertainment agents.
The contract made Cha Seung Won live under the same roof with singer Psy, BIGBANG, and 2NE1, as well as YG actresses including Jung Hye Young, Ku Hye Sun, and Yoo In Na.
YG Entertainment said on the 20, “Cha Seung Won has built a solid status and popularity as an actor, exerting his outstanding acting ability and manly appeal. He decided to sign the contract with YG, as he thought he could create a bigger synergy as an actor with YG’s brand power”.
Cha Seung Won has been enjoying a great popularity in Korea’s film world, for his strong and impactful acting in films including “Into the Fire” (2010), “Eye for an Eye” (2008), and “The Big Scene” (2005). He is also a character actor whose acting abilities have been recognized, as shown by his mini-series best actor prize in “2011 MBC Drama Awards” for his acting in TV drama “The Greatest Love” (2011).
He acted with BIGBANG member-cum-actor Choi Seung Hyun in “Into the Fire” and with Yoo In Na in “The Greatest Love”. Cha Seung Won now restarts and accelerates his acting career with YG’s brand power by appearing in a variety of movies and dramas this year.
Meanwhile, along with Cha Seung Won, veteran actress Yim Ye Jin who has been appearing in MBC drama “Miss Korea” and JTBC drama “Can We Love”, as well as character actor Jang Hyun Sung who earned a rave review for his acting in film “Hwayi: A Monster Boy” and appearance in KBS2’s entertainment show “Superman Has Come Back” have also joined YG FAMILY.
YG’s CEO Yang Min Suk explained, “We believe that our new actors will improve our capabilities of actor management and direct production of broadcasting contents, which will create a synergy and strengthen our strategies for video production business. We have been advancing video production business by carrying out a hologram business with KT and by acquiring shares of Redrover, a company that produced Hollywood animation movie “Nut Job” released on the 17, and collaborating with the company for marketing.
YG will be able to build the foundation to evolve into a global entertainment company by the enhancement of its actor management business as well as other businesses, adding to its globally-recognized business of music production and musician management.

Speaking of Dara, I never got why they didn't let her act in something. There are plenty of idols from other companies who can't act and get jobs. 2ne1 has little promo activities so she could've focused on working on her acting. I mean they find time for TOP to do movies while on tour yet can't get Dara an acting job? For some reason yesterday I was thinking about her Etude cfs. I wish she still was with them bc I thought she was cute in them and gave her some acting to do. Clio wasn't a good match compared to etude imo.

I mean I'm happy she can still get cfs, but I just like the Etude ones better even if they were cheesy. Although I get wanting to have a more mature kind of cf with Clio bc sometimes people felt Dara should act her age and not like a kid. I remember some post about that, but I just felt like she fit Etude better.
