FINALLY. EXO returns to their subunits

Idol group EXO (Baekhyun, Luhan, D.O, Tao, Chen, Sehun, Suho, Kris, Xiumin, Kai, Lay and Chanyeol) after promoting their new song, will be promoting separately as EXO-K (D.O, Kai, Suho, Chanyeol, Sehun and Baekhyun) and EXO-M (Kris, Luhan, Xiumin, Tao, Lay and Chen).



Last month on the 22nd, EXO had their goodbye stage at SBS priority program 'Inkigayo' with their winter special album 'Miracles in December'. With the end of their official activities, EXO has plans to meet fans separately with EXO-K focusing on Korea promotions and EXO-M focusing on China promotions.

According to their agency SM Entertainment on the 9th, EXO-M was invited to attend a Lunar New Year Special Program in China, and departed for Beijing on the 8th at 1pm at Incheon Airport.

EXO-M performed 'Wolf', 'Growl' and various hit songs at this program's concert.

EXO-M also participated in Taiwan TTV Special Program '2014 Superstar Red White Variety Contest' last May.

Various famous singers and actors from Taiwan such as 张惠妹 (A-Mei) and 林依晨(Ariel Lin) also attended '2014 Superstar Red White Variety Contest'. EXO-M was invited as a special guest and participated with performance.

Star News Agency said "EXO-M has been voted to be the number one artist that most Lunar New Year Special Programs wish to invite", showing the love calls from local programs which reflects their popularity.

EXO-K on the other hand has domestic schedules. Firstly, Red Cross RCY (Red Cross Youth) appointed EXO to be their ambassador and they will be doing volunteer work on the 9th.

After that on the same day, from 10pm onwards, member Suho and D.O will appear as guests at MBC "Younha's Starry Night". They will also communicate with fans through other radio shows such as MBC FM4U '2pm's Date is Park Kyunglim' and KBS 2FM 'Super Junior Kiss The Radio'.

On the other hand, last 2012 EXO-K and EXO-M debuted in Korea and China respectively. Last year June, they had a comeback with 12 members with their official 1st album 'XOXO(KISS&HUG)'. As of last month on the 27th, they set a record of more than 1,000,000 copies of their albums sold, together with their repackaged album released in August.

it really is. They don't really get their fair share of screen time during interviews and shows. Although half of them are really shy and the other half are really outgoing so its also based on personality.

If I had to put money on whether SM would do ot6 or ot12 comebacks, I will always say ot12.

The gaon chart came out today and holy fucking shit O_O, SM would be leaving too much money on the table by doing ot6 comebacks when ot12 continues to break decade old records and decimate practically everybody.

That said, I'm beyond happy they're splitting into subunits for the time being, especially for M who really should stay in China for as long as possible because that's where the future BIG money is.

finallyyyyyy. I love Exo as a whole but I really need to hear Exo M perform their songs in Mandarin and just be generally flawless together. I am going to miss Tao/Sehun and Kris/Baekhyun interaction though.

12 is too many but I'm Taohun shipper and it's like I don't like K as a whole as much as I like Chanbaekhun (and Kai) (and DO) (and Suho) and I'm just not that into M as a whole as much as I like Lay, Chen is just still awkward with the chinese members (as much as they said he chose to be there) and idk I like Kris when he is not the leader more because I'm more into dumb boys, and Tao is still cute but maknae like is just the best, and Xiumin's chinese is still not good. I think Chen and Xiumin should remain in Korea but then it won't work that way.

So yeah as much as 12 is too many OT12 is still the best.

Xiumin really tries to speak in Mandarin, at least basic phrases, when he's in China though. I think if he practiced he would get better. I think both he and Chen should be made to learn at least basic Mandarin.

I'm glad to see this happen because Chen struggling in Mandarin is really cute to me. I'm gonna miss chatty Chen tho. But he and Xiumin really need to settle down in China and learn some more Mandarin. I'm gonna miss K a lot because Kai leapt from 7 to my number two bias during growl era but they gotta do what they gotta do. Imma still check into both their activities simultaneously and pretend its OT12 in my head.
Anyway dont worry guys cuz I honestly don't think this will last that long. I will be very surprised if it even lasts till next comeback. They became way too popular as OT12 and SM likes money too much.

Honestly, I like their subunits better because the lesser exposed members get some time in the spotlight. OT12 is cute and all but theres just too many members that are quiet enough that they get shoved in the back when theyre all together
