“The Suspect” has succeeded in reaching the 3 million viewership mark.

Showbox Media Plex reps commented, “On January 5 at around 2PM, ‘The Suspect’ reached 3,554,400 viewers.”

In just three days after its release, ‘The Suspect’ reached the 1 million mark and in eight days after release, the film brought in 2 million viewers.

This 3 million viewer record was reached faster than Won Bin‘s “The Man From Nowhere,” which hit the 3 million mark in 17 days. Furthermore, “The Suspect” is ranking high in the box office, winning over strong Hollywood contenders such as “About Time” and “Ender’s Game.”

“The Suspect” is an action thriller starring Gong Yoo, who plays the role of Ji Dong Chul, a man who lost his family and seeks revenge on those who killed them. This is Gong Yoo’s big screen return in two years since his success with “The Crucible.“

“The Suspect” also stars Park Hee Soon, Jo Sung Ha, Yoo Da In, Jo Jae Yoon and Kim Sung Kyun.

been looking forward to this film for over a year, but still haven't been able to see it yet :( glad it's doing well so far tho.

I've missed him. Glad to hear the movie's doing great.

You can do it! Get to at least 7 million. Then Oppa can just spend his time doing topless photo shoots and excessive aegyo filled cfs all while insisting there are no scripts to "represent his art".

Thus I won't have to feel bad about never watching his movies (because I can't handle the dark shit).

P.S If this ends up breaking the all-time record I will laugh at how chill and quiet his career has been post-army and the fact that he'll have nowhere to hide after having a mega hit. Also, I will go in every male actors post and remind their stans that my Oppa is better than their's.

though the review on hancinema wasn't favourable, it didn't put me off, I'm still looking forward to seeing this. btw aside from south bound (which I loved) and fasten your seatbelt (it's a low-budget film tho), kim sungkyun's movies have always been doing great at the box office. the admissions for all of the films he starred in at least exceeded 2m. as a fan, I feel really happppy lol.

(meanwhile, won bin, my patience is wearing thin.)

srsly, what is going on with won bin? what happened to that lee changdong movie? he can't live on cfs forever (i mean, technically he can, but still)

From: [identity profile] tingl.livejournal.com
I know! that movie was cancelled and I think lee changdong went on to produce another movie starring bae doona and kim saeron. I know he chooses his roles selectively but this is not what I signed up for.. 2 movies in 5 years?!! it's ridiculous. ugh it frustrates me to the point where I get annoyed whenever I see his new CFs/photoshoot lol

From: [identity profile] miwa201.livejournal.com
lol me too, i get choosing roles selectively but look at kang dongwon who got two movies (and a short movie) lined up even though he's been out of the military for a little bit over a year. idk what's up with won bin, i mean lbr he's not an AMAZING actor like song kangho who still works a lot so idk. i feel like i missed my point somewhere lol

is he too busy romancing lee na young to do anything?? lol idk. i know he must get paid huge $$$ for cf's etc but dude, you're an actor. do smth. even a short film would do.

i'm still really sad about the lee chang dong film being cancelled though bc it sounded great + the cast was so solid.

love ur icon btw!!! he looks so good in glasses, dayum.

Kim Sung Kyun is a great actor!! Really happy for his success as well.

ditto on won bin

It's also grating on my nerves that Won Bin's filmography is so thin. He should really just go out and do stuff. I do enjoy his acting, but like...why isn't he doing it? I really do want to know the reason. I mean, I wonder if he just doesn't like acting, now.

So many of his colleagues are still out there constantly putting out work. My fave Shin Ha Kyun is always in something and I never have to worry about him, but Won Bin is like...always in the news...but not for his job.

also, since this is a gong yoo post, I need to talk about yumi and him. I didn't care much about them (as a 'couple') in silenced, but I saw the clip of their cameo appearances on that dating agency drama and please, to all the PDs and scriptwriters in korea, please put them in a romance drama.. now.

Wow, I feel like QSS was a million years ago. Was INR2 good? I haven't watched any of the seasons (but I'm planning to watch 1nr3) do you recommend a marathon?

Date: 2014-01-08 05:51 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] milafanway.livejournal.com
Yeah I feel mature now (?) INR2 was fine but I wanted to punch the girl sometimes..........INR1 is better in I mean, it has Choi Jin Hyuk shirtless and omg his kisses *___________* the friendship is better in season 1 but season 2 is fine too, but the leads in season 1....I wanted to kill them -.-

she's a natural actress who mainly stars in indie and mainstream films. yeah, I would recommend you to watch 'que sera, sera' if you're more of a kdrama fan (also the drama which I first noticed her) and you could try 'my dear desperado' where she was absolutely lovely in it and pretty much confirmed my love for her.

I have a soft spot for QSS (I think it was one of my first makjang).
Yumi was sweet in it, sadly I pretty much avoid the cast of that show. My mind always weirdly connects it to WHIB (probably because their the same genre) thus my brain blocks it out of my memory(it was too dark for me).

I get what you mean, the drama isn't for everyone. the four main leads, especially eric's, and the stuff they do.. had me pulling my hair out in exasperation. the only scene I would love to block it out of my mind (forever) is the attempted rape scene in ep 9.

psst, don't watch inr2 if you don't wish to waste 16 hours of your life, lol. I managed to complete it because of yumi (not her character). the drama drove me nuts. if you're bored, then you can try, well, for the pretty and the kisses.

mte, only for her xD but her character...............................only if you have free time, is that kind of kdrama lol

QSS was dark but almost deliciously so and some really great moments. I loved the music for it too. The attempted rape scene in ep 9 really put me off the drama for a while though. But I've been a fan of Jung Yumi ever since.

YES. I need them in a romance drama like yesterday. ;___;

I really want to see them in a drama together, too.

I was so mad when they teased that romance in 'Silence". Partly because it was in frickin' Silence...not the place!!!!--even though I understood it was to break up the sadness in that film. (Also, I will never watch that movie again.)

And then partly because it planted a seed and I dunno if it'll ever come to fruit, *sob*. U__U

Gong Yoo get it!! I hope for this movie to be good but the plot sounds ok, I don't know why but I need to see it though....
Won Bin? Are you alive? I'll wait forever to see your next movie -.-

The movie was meh. It's basically Secretly Greatly and The Commitment but with a guy in his thirties. It was basically two hours of make Gong Yoo look attractive in every way possible, but not much more than that.
Then again, I watched it in a 4D theatre and god the seats shaking made me so sick...
